Welcome? With your back seats and lack of splashguards????
Well of course you are!

How could we have a proper meet without our brothers-in-coupes?

The more the merrier! There is power in numbers! (have I used enough cliche's yet, or should I continue?)
Of course you guys/gals are welcome!
We won't fault you for buying the grown-up's version!
Just don't complain about our table manners.

This should be a blast! PM me an I'll send ya my cell #.
If anyone has any GMRS type radios (like those Motorola's) bring them for point-to-point communications during drives. I have a few of those too.
They are always helpful during meets.
For those without NAV who don't know where Two Rows is, PM me and I'll explain in detail.
If you can't, here is a brief overview that should put you there:
Take Hwy 59 to Kirby. Exit Kirby and drive S.E.
At the second red light (Bissonet?) turn left (you don't have to be precise here...you can turn anywhere past the second light with-in reason).
Proceed down that street (Bissonet?). You will cross one other. Keep going.
When you come to Morning Side, turn right.
You will be in what appears to be a residential neighborhood with huge (but gentle) speed bumps in the street.
Resist the temptation to use them to catch air.
Continue down Morningside. At 5555 Morningside, you will see some parking and a Bistro, The Bronx (night club), and the Gingerman to your left at 5555.
On your right you will see a "strip mall" looking area with parking.
Above that, upstairs, is Two Rows.
If this area is too crowded on Saturday for pics, Rice University is just up the road, and will have plenty of photo ops, some even on grass!
If you are thirsty, Two Rows has this stuff called "beer."

I'm not familiar with Baker Street Pub. Hmmmm....I don't think so, but I could be wrong.
Here is another way to get there:
Go all the way down Kirby (lots of lights and stay out of the right hand lane
When you come to UNIVERSITY Blvd, turn left and go to Morningside (you will probably go through a stop sign--but be sure to stop--West U. cops really suck.
Once you arrive at Morningside, turn left again, and you will be a block from Two Rows (on your left this time).
I'll look at the map in a minute to double check.
If there are any corrections (to get the directions more precise), I'll post them tonight, so they will be available when everyone wakes up to start their trek.
If you are leaving tonight, PM me with your cell or mobile number, and I'll give you mine. When you arrive, you can call me and I'll meet ya somewhere and we can go to the area for a little recon.
Then I'll come home and post any corrections or updates.
Scott
EDIT: If you turn left at Rice Blvd, you will need to turn right at Morningside and go for another block and it will be on your right.
If you go to University, go left there, and left again on Morningside and it will be to your left.

You know the Bronx Bar??? LOL!
A friend of mine and his brother own that bar!
They have another downtown (Irish Pub).
We close/lock the doors at 2 am all the time (after running everyone out) and party like mad-men! Woo hoo!
Before 9-11 and me being assigned to Homeland Security, I designed the security system for that place (I was working executive protection at the time), and gave him some extra high tech goodies (some, he is still trying to figure out how to work!).
I desinged it myself (a field tech installed, I don't do that stuff!).
That is a bad place to break in to.
Fun place to hang out!
Have you ever scoped out their selection of Scotches???

Thanks For the Head's UP! I promise I won't try to break in that place
hehehe Anyway, yeah they had that place Cilante Irish pub? Downtown... next to 511, right? Come to think of it, I was downtown last weekend and I dont recall seeing it there. Did it close down? I think I've met the dude like 5 times...A lot of my friends are regulars there and that's how I was introduced to him...Anyway, My buddy used to work the door there, now he's at Brian O'neals. and I think another friend of mine works the door at Bronx now... Maybe we can close off the Covered parking area next door to bronx... can probably fit like 10 cars in there!

Hey Gator,
I guess I know both of your friends that used to work the front door.
One of them was interested in getting a job with my outfit (before the events of 9-11).
I was thinking about the covered parking next door, too.
I didn't wanna mention it until I could be sure, as I don't think the Bronx has sole proprietorship over that lot.
Maybe we can work something out.
I just got off the phone with JD, and he is coming in tonight.
We are meeting at Rice Village if anyone would like to join us.
If you want exact details and times and locations, PM me and I'll tell you w/o posting our intended movements to the whole world here in this open thread.
We are already expecting 3-4 to get together tonight.
A dozen would be even better.
PM me and we'll get this thing rolling!
I'm hoping we can do the Cart track tonight to free-up some time tomorrow.
We can also stop and browse Ferrari's.
Hope I see you all tonight;
Come on out!

anyone can come to the meet. If you don't have 350z, or just simply wants to check one out, you are all welcome to come and join us.. afterall, g35 is in the same family
I just got back from doing the Saturday night thing after the Houston meet.
We have some shweet rides here!
I saw the first G35 I've ever liked, and I don't even remember whose it was, but I'll post pics. It was Chrome Silver.
Even though it was an Infinity, it looked as good as a 350z, and had a nice spoiler, too.
The thing that is most frustrating is the lack of time to exchange ideas.
There is an amazing desparity of knowledge out there.
I had so many questions, I had to use my Palm Pilot to record the answers!
I feel that we have a very strong base of info. amongst the member's here. I hope that we have another chance to "pick their brains" again soon.
We parked our cars on the roof of Two Rows for some nice pics; I'll post some later when I return from brunch but before the Superbowl.
Okay, maybe after the Superbowl, depending on sobriety.

Considering the short planning time and the bad weather, I'd say the meet was actually a success. I didn't expect to see more than 3 or 4 Z's, but maybe twice more came, as well as a G35 Sedan and Coupe.
It was fun to just stand around and talk about our cars...apexi had some nice mods on his and we got to hear someone w/a custom exhaust as well i believe.
Also, just thought i'd clean up Vova's pic a bit...ill put mine up soon.

Just got back to Louisiana from the Houston Meet this Saturday. I had the black G35 Sedan. I thought the meet was a great sucess. Had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool people. I wouldn't mind driving another 6 hours to do it again! Being a G35 owner, I learned alot about the 350Z, and hell, I might just get one as a play toy. I'm creating a page with all my pictures as I type this, so it'll be posted at the bottom of this post. I hope to see you all again soon, and don't be afraid to come to New Orleans for a meet during Mardi Gras!!!

I'm glad to hear that everyone made it home safely from the Houston meet.
I think we had a strong beginning and a good turn-out considering Mother Nature's hijack attempts and this being our first meet.
Here we are lined up on the roof of Two Rows Microbrewery:

Being from Spring originally I would have to agree....though I'm bias to Northwest Harris County. The place was a bit cramped and I would have picked a place with more parking out front. It's more fun when you can put all the cars somewhere that a lot of people walk by. I will give Track this though. There where a lot of nice things to look at down by Rice.
Looking forward to the next one.
Looking forward to the next one.
It's hard to get more accessable than the Greenway Plaza area.
Now, if I wanted to be accessable to me, I'd have suggested the North end, as I live in Kingwood.
I-45 North is not only crime-ridden, but there is nothing to do but sit around and look at our cars.
The weather kinda shut down our extra-curricular activities, at least they were an option.
We were just a couple of blocks from Rice, where in Rice Village where only pretty people are allowed, the Cart track is a mile away, there are very nice night clubs all along the strip, and Dave and Busters is just a couple of miles away.
Additionallyt there is Magic Island, gourmet ice cream (Dolce Freddo's), the Gingerman, BW3's, The Bronx, Little Woodrow's, Cactus Records, Ruth's Chris, Houston Brewery, The Bank Draft, all the cool stuff on Westheimer, Chimney Rock, and Hillcroft.
On the other hand, I-45 North is mostly industrial with very little recreation and a total lack of cute co-eds.
I don't want people from that area walking by my car and checking it out.
Why tempt them into crime?
North Houston may be closer to you and me, but what about the majority?
And what would they do up here? Where would those staying overnight park their car so it will be there the next day?
Face it, we live in B.F.E. with little or no recreational outlets.
Downtown may be less convienient to people like us, but downtown is better for everyone else, especially those who are making the drive from out of town.
Downtown is the nerve center of Houston.
Next time, we could even go to the planetarium for a laser show.
The suburbs are boring.
I know this from experience.
I attend a car club meet about 3-4 times a month (I have a lot of sports cars.
)
The Austin meets are the best, but the Houston meets have been picking up lately, especially since we've started making it easy on the out-of-towners to attend.
For our Club 3G meet, we are renting out a two story warehouse used for raves. We are flying in a band, a couple of DJ's and setting up an open bar with professional bartenders.
The whole parking lot will be ours.
We usually have 20-30 Eclipses show up.
Great time for pictures!
Now they know how to party!
