Smile Going... Going... Gone! (selling my Z)

After MUCH pleasure and FUN modding my Performance 350Z... It's time to say goodbye.
Of course I will remain quite active here at the site and contribute and even meet up with you guys on a regular. Just time for a change in rides.

I won't be getting into "price wars" in the thread, so if you or someone you know is TRULY interested, please PM me and I will discuss pricing. I have not taken out ads as of yet (havn't really tried selling her) but they will start running next week.

***ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO PARTING OUT***

This car was created very tastefully with quality parts time and effort, and it will be sold "AS IS".

No sir. The Big Brakes need the 19's.

3hree5ive0ero txstyle - are you coming to the meet on june 3rd, even if you don't have your z?
Yes. Could be the biggest MEET in a while!

And spread the word to folks that you know of who may be interested in buying a 350Z that is already "hooked up". You guys have seen and know my car first hand.

I highly doubt Marcus is selling his Z for $54,000... I think he meant 54,000 miles are on his odometer.. Come on now. A $54,000 Z? Probably not even BigBri's car's is going to be priced that high when selling..

Yes guys... Had I put a $ before 54, I would need to lay down the crack pipe! I indeed was reffering to mileage, which I will make clear now.

So to be perfectly clear: 54k miles (factory replaced/warranted transmission: 4,500 miles).

And for the record... First offer as close to $27k, done deal.

Actually.... I initially wanted to get something like a pre-owned E55 (04' or 05') but for a couple of reasons, I have changed my mind.
First and foremost, my newborn son has really had me rethink my expenses and expendetures. Could I take on another car payment (possibly higher)? Sure. Does it make sense? Not at this time. I'd like to take this opportunity to be conservative particularly in my career (mortgage) with rising interest rates and this market slowing down considerably.
Second: I have recently become fond of the new Lexus GS model (I owned a 98' GS400 and absolutely loved that car!) but I'm not too impressed with it's moddest 300hp/GS430. Now on the near horizon (Summer 2007 as a 2008 model) Lexus will unleash the GS460! This all-new V8 will debut in the upcoming redesigned LS460 (this Fall) with 380hp and comparable torque. I anticipate Lexus will squeeze another 20hp or so out when it debuts in the GS. So the idea of a Very refined, reliable, Japanese Sports Sedan with 400hp, and of course the "lil' extra things" I will no doubt perform on it sounds quite appealing to me. Not to mention it will give me a whole year to be conservative with my cashflow.
So to answer your question... probably a pre-owned Infiniti or possible Maxima, that I can either pay cash or have a very small balance with.

Whoa.... whoa... Not so fast there hommie.

The below is what a dealer would charge you for my car (unmodded of course) and for comparissons, what an individual (like me) should get (unmodded of course).

Engine: V6 3.5 Liter
Transmission: 6 Speed Manual
Drivetrain: RWD
Mileage: 54,000
Selected Standard Equipment
Air Conditioning
Power Steering
Power Windows
Power Door Locks

Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control
AM/FM Stereo

Dual Front Air Bags
ABS (4-Wheel)
Traction Control
Selected Optional Equipment
Multi Compact Disc
DVD System

F&R Side Air Bags
Leather

Premium Wheels 19''+

Using a most basic (yet reliable) internet guideline such as Kelley Bluebook, is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.
Vehicle Condition Rating:
Excellent (Selected)
$22,725
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.
* Texas 05/29/2006
Now - Private Party: (Same stats as above)
Blue Book Private Party Value
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes.
Vehicle Condition Ratings:
Excellent (Selected)
$19,665
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category.
Now keeping in mind the above show a difference of $3,060, so not too far off between dealer and an individual like myself.

Oh... But let's not forget about what TRULY makes this particular car special: Over $12000 in the most tasteful modding one could grace upon a 350Z!
As with my heavily modified Lexus GS400 that sold on eBay for considerably more than I could get local, this 350Z represents a value for that/those individuals who appreciate a very meticulous kept, maintained, and modded vehicle. In all aspects, it is quite honestly a: Specialty Vehicle.
It is a VERY moddest statement in saying "This is one of the nicest most tastefully done (inside and out!) 350Z's anywhere at any price."
Need convincing? Go out and test drive a brand spanking new 350Z, any model you wish. Then give me a shout and schedule a test drive...

Nuff said!

Oh... Did I mention the "state of the art" ALARM System:

- 1,500ft range
- glass-break module
- mercury-tilt switch
- window roll up/down
- dual stage shock sensor
- remote/paging (audible or vibrate)

And you can also rest assured that it has been maintained to the utmost standard!

I hate to see you go Marcus, and I can say your car is super clean. Marcus is one of the most **** people when it comes to cars, and it shows if you ever see his car....

Why not a G35 sedan? You should be able to pick one up for pretty cheap (the new body style comes out in a few months so prices are good).

It is absolutely not my intention to insult you but being in the industry, I would say you are looking much closer to $22K than $27K. The dealer can always charge more than you as an individual. Although your mods are considered tasteful to you, remember that not everyone has your taste and your mods are used as well. An alarm is an alarm whether you spent $199 or $1K. The upside is you would probably do a lot better to sell off your brakes and wheels and get near $20K for the car. Your car is worth near $20K stock and I am sure you can get $2K for your wheels (or better) and near $2500 for your brakes (if front and rear kit). Then you wouldn't be too far off the mark from where you want to be and it would sell a lot faster than waiting to find someone that wants exactly what you have and is willing to pay for it. On the other end of this deal, I am getting crazy deals on BMWs and if you want anything with 7year/100K mile warranty, I can help. Sold a 03 7 series with 30K miles for $39K.

I hear ya TK.

Notice I said "closest to" my target amount...? Obviously I am reasonable and have plenty of common sense.
I will see how the 'marketing' goes when I trun various ads, and then make alternate adjustments if neccessary.
