Michael.
I did notice a certain yellow top-up S2K that wimped out however.
And then there was this guy in a Jag, sipping Earl Grey tea...
Speaking of whom, I enjoyed the drive!
Thanks, Al, and everybody, for inviting us!
The S2K and Z groups have a lot of positive synergy... we've enjoyed having you folks on our drives too. We should keep this up!

Since the S2K was in the shop getting some paint touch-up (too many back-country drives... and recently the victim of a rather inconvenient trailer hitch punch in the fender), I decided to take the "Shaguar". Specs: S-Type, 242-HP aluminum 3.0 Litre DOHC V-6 (patented Cosworth density casting technique used for the block), 5-speed automanual, rear-wheel drive. Aluminum suspension bits underneath. SLA/coilovers. Nice black leather throughout. The same chassis is reused, too, in other products: LS, T-Bird, larger Jag, and future Mustang. 50.5/49.5% weight balance. Summary: sort of like a G35 - but with finer breeding as appropriate for it's station in life.
It worked well... and was able to easily keep up with the speeds involved. I mostly kept to the back... at least until I finally got bored and decided to come forward to play in the main group. That was one of the most fun passes of my day.
I also tried out my new differential GPS, with WAAS, and some new software to go with it. It is accurate to within 1 meter (given WAAS availability). Now that I know it works well, I'll use it to document a course for S2K Days later in the year.
Have your people call mine when you plan to run another one!

More Pics!
Al - aka Touring6MT_Z

A water crossing, and it wasn't my fault!

A 4-dr sports car from the other side of the world!

Real S2K owners - tops down!

Manure - cow or horse? That is the question.

What happens when the insults go too far!

The S2K folks are my guest at yesterday event. Since this is your first post here and you have more posts at the S2K Atlanta forum, I assumed you're an S2K owner, not Z.
How many times you had driven your S2K through the Hill Country twisty with Chris and Jeff? If you've done that, you wouldn't make this type of comments.
Al, thanks for inviting us along...I had a great time!
I admit, I'm the one who committed the heresy of driving my S2000 w/ the top up after Llano. I usually don't drive my car in conditions when I can't enjoy it top down, but I wasn't really enjoying freezing on the way to Llano.
It was nice meeting all the new faces...everyone was really cool, and y'all have some beautiful cars! Sorry I couldn't make it to the dinner, as I had a party to attend and some last minute prepwork on my CRF for MX'ing today. Great weekend, but I'm beat!!!

Just what I have been waiting for all of my life. LLANO, TX. It was nice, we had fun. I am SO glad that a weekend with the boyz was also enjoyable to my GF. She said she had a great time meeting all of you. I think she's ok with this whole z-subculture that I have recently found myself a part of.
Thanks again, folks. I never knew that 130+ MPH could be so much fun and also be so scary. I am not sure what scared me more, the speedo readout or my girlfriend STILL telling me to "HIT THE GAS at those speeds.

I was running two radios Saturday so we also kept a more or less running commentary throughout the drive with Sondra and Jeff on the subchannel. Thanks again! Great Drive!
I have to tell a story about an "incident" that occured Saturday during the drive. The "hero" of the story will remain nameless, unless they wish to reveal themselves. I'm compelled to tell this story because of the absolutely brilliant way this person handled the situation.
A couple of us decided to take a side trip since we were ahead of the pack and had a few minutes for a detour. Three of us lined up. As our leader went around the corner off 71, there was a motorcycle cop sitting *right* there. Yes, a motorcycle cop out in the middle of nowhere - very unusual.
Imagine how we felt: 1 minute later, he would have been gone. 5 minutes earlier, we would all have been cooked.
The cop hit his lights and took off after us immediately. I was last in the line of three cars, so I pulled into a real estate office, thinking he would believe the Jag to not be part of the "speeders". That worked perfectly. Next up was one of the sports cars, who innocently pulled off the road - not having done anything. That tactic also worked. So, the motorcycle cop pulled ahead - chasing the leader.
Upon being pulled over, and noticing the motorcycle cop writing up a ticket, this person said to the Cop "Are you writing me a ticket to the Policemans Ball?". The Cop replied" No, we Policemen don't have *****". Then the Cop realized the situation he had put himself in, and in an act of acknowledgement to his obvious superior, got on his bike and rode off without saying another word, much less writing up a ticket.
So, that's the story.
Kudos to the quick thinker!
And, no kudos to the chickens who pulled off and hid!

Jeff... Bwahahahaa....
Yes, I did get pulled over by the motorcycle cop. He did write me a warning ticket after we shot the breeze for a few minutes (expired inspection & I hadn't bothered to apply the valid reg sticker yet).
The gross part is that those motorcycle cops wear pants SO tight, he had a CAMEL TOE! Ugghhh... proof that cops have ***** or something in there, right? Yukkkk.... (wishing I could find that vomiting smiley)!
