I'd suggest bringing a few things.

- some water/drinks, no beer/alcohol!
- if you plan on staying a while I'd suggest some way to cut the sun off you.
- a chair for whoever comes if you are staying a while.

There is plenty of places to eat around the area, I think there are some grills as well so we'll be able to grill some food possibly as well.

We should have several pop-up covers for providing shade...so...unless you are an incredibly obnoxious butt-head , or forgot to put your deoderant on ...feel free to bring your chair over and join in. We're planning on kind of tying them together so we should have plenty of shade for everybody

Silvr...looks like your event is really taking off !!!
Looking forward to meeting you and all the other Z/G Owners !

Just wondering if we are going to have dedicated meet up spots like the galveston cruise? Or just meet @ the park?

I hope that lot is filled with Z's and G's next week. Be nice to see some clean modded 240's.

Some pre-meets would be helpful; I got 3 big coolers but I cant possibly carry any in the Z, but I'll bring lots of drinks if someone got something to store them in and keep'em cold

I just ordered a new semi-pro level DV camcorder, It would be nice to take some shots in 24P widescreen of the cars in natural lighting, hope it comes in on time

Well...
we were going to keep it our little secret and caravan over to this event together, but we decided, why not invite everyone.

For those of you that are coming in from the North Side (or anyone else that cares to join in)...
We’ll meet at the huge Home Depot Parking Lot…over by the Whataburger.
Take the Durham/Shepard Exit and it’s on the Eastbound Side of 610 N.

We’ll meet there around 10:00am.
We should pull out NO LATER than 10:30am !!!.

Rules of the road for caravaning:
We all try to stay in one lane...preferably the right lane.
We all drive with our headlights on.

We'll have several non-Z's with us, carrying coolers and tents and stuff, so we SURE don't want to lose them.
We'll drive the posted speed limit (or pretty close to it), because we'll attract enough attention without flying down the highway

Hopefully, this will add a new element of fun to an exciting event

As for directions...
this is the route that we're planning on taking with the caravan.

Even if you're not planning on going with us, it will give you an idea of where this place is at.

We’re taking 610 E to 610 S to 225 to Pasadena. Then we’ll go right on 146 and take the Fairmont Parkway Exit in LaPorte. We’ll go left and go all the way to the bay to Sylvan Park. I don't know, but I would imagine that there will be signs pointing the way, once you get on Fairmont.

Also...
we'll have several ice chests for folks that want to "throw down" some drinks (heck, we might even put some ice in them ).

Mapquest directions:

Sylvan Park

You can zoom in on the map and see the park. Dunno exactly where the meet will be within it, but it shouldn't be too hard to spot. Perhaps Silverhand can point out the exact spot?

So what time is everyone planning on showing up?

I still have to see if I will be able to attend this event. Any Tropical Storm or Hurricane that is going to hit the US, my client gets all of my attantion 24/7.

I think you'll be O.K. as long as you stay out of the East China Sea.
