As a first-timer, I wouldn't worry about tires too much.
First, you're not going to ruin your street tires...just wear'em in a bit (especially the outer edges
).
Your main concern should be learning to "drive the line" and proper braking technique. Trust me...anybody can go fast...but it gets pretty exciting when you realize that you can't control all that speed when you go into your first corner, HOT !
Speed is irrelevant without control. The speed comes with time and experience.
Gryphen is at the stage where he can start being concerned about tires (I'm so proud of him
)

Hey give me more info, I went on the site and some of the information is outdated. I can meet anyone up anytime of the week. So can you pm me with what time, where, and when the next meet/event will be held. Thank you.

This looks promising. I will definitely check into this more.

Here's a quote from the site:
The Z Club of Houston will hold MONTHLY membership meetings.
Membership meetings will be held the third Tuesday of each Month at 7PM.
Membership meetings will continue to be held at Hickory Hollow, 101 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas, corner of Center and Heights Blvd.
That's on I-10 west of downtown, go south on heights blvd, and it's right there on the right.
Z U There ;-)
