Hey guys, I'm going to install the final drive ring and pinnion this week when it arrives. I decided to hold off on the 2-way LSD, I'm just going to weld my stock one. Know of any cheap welders around these parts? Or can any of you MIG weld?

i can recommend you a good shop not sure what it would cost you price wise for what you want. The automotive shop i use (see below) uses him for any welding needs so its worth a call to find out. its called Master's Welding and its on Commerce street. The guy's name is Barry Masters and he is an outstanding welder so if you want a good quality job you should check it out. The number is 772-0049.

Bye the way, you know that once you weld the diff you will only be good in a straight line, you will not be able to take a turn with a **** without the outside tire slipping if you weld/lock the diff in place.... just making sure you know that.

If you want a good quality automotive shop, where ive got my exhaust, headers, plenum spacer, etc. installed, and all maintenanvce on my Z's... you should check out J&L Motorsports on Hawkins, that number is 775-2033. They actually do some formula ford racing, you can check out the race cars in the back. They are super knowledgeable and the owner John is a great guy, he can pretty much help you out with anything you need.

I was trying to find the 4.3 final drive but its like they only give it to you if your in formula d lol. So i went with 4.083. And I'm getting a 2-way LSD anyways, i figured i could just weld the stock lsd for now. i realize what i'm getting into and i know how it will effect my car. this is just a short cut money saver until i have an extra grand laying around...

i don't drag or autocross. only into drifting.

but i will definitly give them a call. it should be cheap and fast. i bring the entire pumpkin in, they weld it and i leave, eas as pie... hopefully...
thanks though

I'll have to hit up that geronimo i guess.

I'm going to go out everynight next week to do some casual drives looking for new drifting local if anyone is down.

as for the shaft, a lot of people are running 2-way LSD's on the stock carbon fiber drive shaft. I was looking into upgrading to a stage 3 cv axle package but considering my horsepower, i'm not concerned.

All the stock equipment should be more than fine considering my mods and my intentions...

Nick, my final drive should be here by the end of the week or beginning of next, you still game to help me install that?

underhood cosmetic: nismo oil cap, nismo radiator cap, getting a plenum polished right now and ordering a polished z tube...

you guys have pretty cars. my bumpers are all epoxied together and zip tied and **** lol. my wheels have curb rash. there a re dents and scratches and ****.

BTW- I've heard afternarket NA headers degrade performance somewhat. top end at least. I'm mainly looking for things which help with low end torque the most. Is this one of those things? I'm not so concerned with getting as fast as possible as I am with getting to the speed limit as fast as possible...

I got that **** in the mail today. I'm psyched. mildly nervous. Don't want to **** anything up lol. Mostly psyched. Got a ton of parts in the mail today actually. Anyway, I'm going to knock out a lot of the little work tomorrow. My door hinges will be here saturday morning. And I was planning to install the final drive on saturday as well.

Have either of you ever installed one before?

Thing is, in my infinite wisdom, it never occurred to me to buy the install kits. I just bought the ring in pinnion so i have to use all the stock seals and parts. I hope it's a simple swap out. But I'll call you today about when you wanna do this tomorrow.
