Default Bmt

Just to throw it out there to you houston owners I will be gone until July. I am going into Basic Military Training for the Air Force and then jumping directly to tech school afterwards. July is an estimate of when I'd be able to show back up to anything goin down in our parts. Thankfully my new car cover came in before I have to leave.

Peace fellas

So, you'll be at Lackland AFB in SA. Good luck, keep a low profile and you'll survive the "Chair Force" BMT. I'm Army, of course, so I'm biased.

lol....there's a saying in the navy...."You know what NAVY stands for? - Never Again Volunteer Yourself. lol.

Good luck man...Basic is more of a mind f*ck than anything else. Air Force has the easiest basic of them all. Be careful and come back in one piece if you're going over seas.

I have no idea what my job is going to be so I don't know where tech school is. I filled out my "dream sheet" but never got a definite answer on what I would be doing. I don't care one way or the other I'm only signed up for 2 years and then I can get out, apply for OTS, or train for something else.

Sounds like you know what you are getting into... since you have a good mind set of what to expect you will be fine... it is the young ones who dont have a clue who get rattled... from a soon to be Military Training Leader (MTL) ...GOOD LUCK!

How long have you been in the DEP? I'm in San Antonio and I work in HQ Recruiting Service. It has been a while since any 2 year options have been offered. As for BMT, your going in at a good time as BMT is about to extend 2 weeks. Good luck and stay positive. Many folks here are right, don't volunteer, wait to be voluntold!!!

I retired from the Air Force after 21 yrs of service. Just remember, BMT is all a game. They just want to see how well you handle stress and being yelled at. No matter what you do you'll always be wrong!! Again, never volunteer for anything no matter how good it sounds. A friend told me be for I went to BMT to volunteer to sing in the church choir so you could get out of work on Sundays. When they asked who liked to sing I raised my hand (like an idiot) and had to sing in my underwear in front of the rest of the flight while the TI did his inspection. DON'T VOLUNTEER.

Yeah i havent heard of that in a while either... but since the Army does it i guess the AF is trying to be like that Army once again... with all that changes that occur in the AF everyday it seems as if they want us to be like the ARMY.... if i wanted to join the Army i would have... just venting...
