Default Where not to get your rollcage done

Had a local roll cage shop do my cage awhile ago and wanted to come back with an update.

Now we have to cut all the affected sheetmetal out and replace it and redo the cage.

I just have to add this to my interior that they almost totally destroyed as well. Way to go JBZ Race Cars & Customs

After my car being down for 2 years and crap like this happening has really made me consider to just drop the whole idea of completing it. Just not worth it to me anymore.

Ok, so why do you have interior and a roll cage anyways? If it is going to be a race car, make it a race car. Remove anything that isn't necessary. As for the floorpan, without seeing the other side, you really cannot say that they did a bad job. What you see there is the undercoating(sound deading material) that is heated up from the welding process on the other side. It looks like they welded a plate to the bottom of the cage and then welded that to the floorpan which is standard practice for unibody cars without frame rails.

I'd have to somewhat agree with ^^. Without seeing the rest of the work, it is hard to tell. All that you can tell for sure is that the heat of the welding melted the undercoating and the bare metal that was exposed started to get some rust. Spray some new undercoating and you'll be good to go.

If you look at the pics you can plainly see the distorted sheetmetal. The rusted areas have no sound deadening material on them at all. Everything in those spots is the sheet metal of the car. You can look through the holes and see the bottom of the plate from the rollcage.

Yes they used 6"x6" plates per regulations.

Car has an interior b/c it "was" going to be a show car for a year then stipped out. Dont really see how that changes the fact that they did a horrible job and damaged 99% of the interior when they knew what the job was and how it needed to be done.

This can not be fixed by simply spraying new undercoating on it. The car is structural unsound now and the roll cage is damn near deadly. In an accident it may just punch through the floor instead of offering any kind of protection.

Dont have any pics of the interior yet, and I have fixed about 80% of the damages on the interior already. When SGP takes the interior out to clean up the mess JBZ left i'll get some pictures of what the plates look like from the inside and so on.

Fnished product shouldnt be noticeable from the underside. They are going to get all the affected areas out, reinforce all the surrounding areas and cover it all back up with the sound deadening material.

SGP does all my work....no matter what it is. IF they can't do it, they can get someone that knows Z to do it. You'll pay for it, but its better than paying a cheaper price...twice. lol. Sorry to hear it bro...Mark will get it all straightened out.

This car has been nothing but dissapointment and setbacks for 2 years so I hope its worth it when he gets it done b/c right now getting into the vq35 scene is the biggest mistake ive made. Maybe when SGP is done with it and I see it; it will bring some confidence back in me about the car.

Ive always trusted SGP and thats the only place the car has been besides for the roll cage and the only place it will go for tuning and anything after its finished.

Its there. Black G35, no hood or front fenders, stock wheels and wilwood brakes.

They are doing all the install work, engine, and wireing, etc... There really not anything special about the car thats not on other peoples cars besided the fuel cell and the turbos.
