Default Choosing Electric Companies?

I need some help choosing an electric company. I didn't realize there were so many. Any advice? Some say the cheaper ones have no customer service and do not turn the power on when you want it on, ect. The builder is leaving the electric on and staying with TXU and of course they are the most expensive.

I am moving into a new home 01 May!

I used WTU for 7 years, prices stay somewhat stable on the expensive side. Their customer service is the worst though. I now use TXU, and can honestly say I saved at least $75 a month during peak summer use.

Couple of my troops tried "Green Mountain Power" and it put them in the poor house. Each one had a 1 bed 1 bath apt, with moderate cooking and A/C use. If I'm not mistaken that power comes from the windfarm you see on 277, if you've ever come this way.

Many people have started using "DynoWatt" and they seem to be quite happy. No issues with power, or funky charges. From what I understand, they have decent customer service as well.

I don't have any info, on the other carriers.

Make sure you keep your EID # that AEP gives you when go to permanant power with meter. It's a 15 digit number that you will sometimes need when dealing with your carrier.
