Default Who was this and what was the outcome??

at about 10 this morning, up near parmer and 620, i see a silverstone Z and a droptop mustang turn off of parmer onto a back road (avery-something, right before you get to jefferson creek). they were turning slow and i was gonna make the turn to follow them. as i drive past, i see that are still driving slowly right next to each other, maybe getting ready to go at it. damn i knew i shoulda turned and been nosey. anybody on this board? and if so was it a run? the mustang looked like it might have been a cobra.....

We had just had an awesome race off the light after the one at Parmar and McNeil.

Picture this, if you will. My 350z lines up next to his Saleen, after turning onto Parmar together from McNeil. Shortly before the light turns green a previous model Cobra pulls up on the other side, all at pole position. Then right as the light turns green a GT pulls up revving behind us.

Really I thought I was going to get smoked since it was a Saleen, but I just edged the Saleen and the Cobra to the next light before easing up, but really it was all pretty much neck and neck (btw the GT gave up almost immediately hopefully out of respect for it's elders).

Yeah, we were having a chat at the light and continued it as we turned. Our offices are further down the road. He was amazed at the performance from the Z. In turn I told him that I thought the Saleen would have smoked me, but he was saying that his model only did a 5.4 0-60, and that was enough to do that older Cobra but not the new ones.

Yeah, we ended up going at it again on that road. We stopped dead in the road, continued chatting for a minute or so, he kept on going on about how amazed he was at the Z's performance and then we hit it again. Again it was neck and neck, though this time I noticed he was half a nose in front, though I have to admit there is a bend in that road and I didn't punch it as hard as I did on Parmar.

It was a Saleen 281 convertible. The guy was from CA and had recently moved out here. Welcome to Texas baby!

For a Ford, it's a sweet looking car.

Thanks. It was a rush and a half.

Cool! I used to live in the Stone Canyon subdivision on 620. Now I live Central and commute to Parmar and 620! That's a good thing though, always driving against the traffic.
