My critiquing of what's 'wrong' with the car:

-It's a Roadster (sorry, roadsters are just fugly to me). Nothing looks better than the curves of the Z's coupe roof.

-It has the gay Lambo or vertical doors (if you didn't put those on then it's not your fault.) Leave the Lambo doors to the Chevy Monte Carlo's and Dodge Chargers.

-You have those horrendous headlight cover things which make the car look like a girl's car (VW Bug) or like a Porsche. The Z's headlights design is amazing from the start.


Don't take it too personal. Some people actually think the gold rims on my DB look silly. (riiiiight)

My rims are the embodiment of all that is good on this univese.

White rims are like, soooooooo 1990's!

White rims= Anti Christ (along with Watchdog's Crenshaw Cruisin' vert doors and headlight cover thingies)

 

my white rims are clean and gorgeous. shut up.

 

The only thing I like about it is the shaved emblems. Everything else is bad taste. Particularly those hideous taillights and those headllight covers or whatever they are. They make the car look cheap.


OEM > aftermarket

There is a certain point where that crap about 'oh I don't care what anyone else thinks' or 'if you like it then you like it and that is all that matters' goes flying out the window at warp speed.

After all, you obviously care what other peopel think about you because you bought THAT kind of car and you try to make other people go 'oooh' and 'ahhh' with THOSE mods but it ain't working (save for all the posters from Texas which I find amusing, lol)

There are just some things that are universally tasteful and Vert doors and headlight mascara aren't any of them.

lol i also gotta keep in mind some people commenting are proably older people, some people are lucky enough to work their *** off and have a car like that at a younger age.

and for me i love the style. thats all the matters.

i am not sure yet about the fairlady z thing. i am still thinking about it. i like the stealth no emblem look. so i might just stick with it

 

MWD, you are making the same mistakes a lot of people do when jumping into modding a Z. first of all you are rushing things. it took me almost 6 months to decide on the wheels i wanted. over a year to decide on going F/I and over 2 years to decide on what body kit i wanted. i ran into the same mistakes many of have when i first got the car. i wanted to slap on every inexpensive mod i could and take short cuts. the more and more i thought about it though, i knew in the end i would be making a mistake, wasting money and time. in the end, you really need to take your time, plan out, read, look at pics, read, look at pics and read some more. while you do this, save money and do it right the first time.

However, my mistakes didn't come in the line of aesthetic mods. It came along the lines of power-producing mods. I thought I wouldn't go turbo for YEARS so I spent money on Greddy Exhausts, Nismo headers, intakes and things of that nature which are crap if you later go turbo. So I basically spent close to $3,000 (including labor) having this stuff only to go turbo later and used completely new or other parts like the stock exhaust manifold

As for Watchdog, I think if you were to go to a Z meet or at least one out here in Cali and put your car up along other Z's, you'll begin to notice something and you will definitely stand out but it is the BAD kind standing out.

If you do ANYTHING to your car, please take off the headlight mascara. It makes the car look like a b1tch-car and it doesn't help that most convertible drivers are women (not saying anything, just an observation- I'm sure you're a great guy in actuality).

Just be more judicious in your mods.

P.S. Is your car at least manual transmission?
