Welcome to the DFW. Be sure to check out the TX regional forum (here) and the Meets sub-forum for all the social gathering. We're definitely in need of more FI'd Zs around here. Come and show off your ride.

Damn you both with your TT Z's....I should have a TT Z by now but the installation that was supposed to occur over my Xmas break never happened b/c I never got my APS Tuner kit in time. Neither DynoComp now DHL took responsibility for the mishap. I don't know why I didn't just buy the kit from Sharif in the first place.

At any rate, this summer Sharif will have the keys to my car and pretty much a blank check to do whatever the hell he wants. Can't wait....

Welcome again kevin...you have PM.

I've been absent from the boards lately due to school...you mean to tell me that you decided to go TT FI and let Sharif do the work? I thought I read somewhere that you had blown your motor, but I missed the part where you decided to let Forge do the new work. That's awesome, bro. Do you have the car back? I seriously need to talk to you/buy you lunch and get some more info here. I'm planning my work at forged late this summer. Wow man I am really happy for you. Are you happy with the work you received?

i had my car trucked over to forged about 3 weeks ago. its getting a built motor and greddy tt out of a G35. the G owner is going back to stock and trading her in for a GT-R. i got a helluva deal on it and i just couldnt pass up the opportunity to go TT with a built motor, as it seemed like a waste to have a supercharger when getting the motor built.

i'll be upgrading the injectors form 550's to 850's and removing the utec and upgrading to the haltech. aiming for 16psi or so for 500 to 600whp on sharif's heartbreaker. im also going with the clutchmasters stage 4 clutch and jwt flywheel, along with some other minor upgrades, greddy catch can, samco hoses etc.

in the mean time ive picked up a classic for a daily, 87 mr2 automatic, rofl.
got a decent deal on it and it only had 98k on the odometer. the car weighs 2400 pounds and has no power steering so its kinda like driving a big gocart. its nice to get 25 mpg in the city too.

i'll keep you guys updated on the progress, but right now i know my blown motor is out, and my new/used built motor is out as well. the G is getting priority as we agreed upon so i expect the G to be done by the end of this week and my car done by the end of next week. could be take longer but i am in no rush and dont wish to push them too much.

i highly recommend forged. i have zero worries that they will do a great job. sharif is almost always available and sandy is always there willing to help out in anyway she can.

if you decide on trucking your car to forged it can be done round trip for about a grand.

you got it wrong, you can get the same sort of power from a stock motor that you can get from a bottom end built motor. the advantages of the built motor is that you can run more boost safely. hell psi for psi the stock motor with higher compression will produce more power. with the stock bottom end you are looking at maxing out around 8psi safely, with a built bottom end you can run double that safely. now if you get head work, and cams then you more power from just the motor.

no, i havent run 12 on purpose, i have spiked past 12 or around there but thats just for a second and when i saw my reading on my boost controller i kinda got a little shaky. 8-9 feels good and powerful, about 420 whp not bad for DD.

Hay,
This is Jon, just an option, GoodSpeed Performance lab is open and we do carry all APS products and we don’t seem to have problems with DHL or any other shipping company. we also install every thing we sell including the tt kits, most already know but I installed all the kits at Dynocomp up until September, now my self and Joe Morell, have a 8500sf retail installation and tuning facility in Tempe, 7965 S Priest dr #106 we are still doing some Ti's and the MaHa AWD dyno is in transit from Germany as I write this but we will be up and running in about a month or two with the most advanced public dyno lab in AZ. Feel free to stop by any time.

Noob question Nexx (I'm sure you've been asked this numerous times...but like I said I've been bsuy with school) Why Haltech and not Fcon...was that part of the deal Sharif was giving you?

Nice step up on the injectors...me likey. AS far as your daily, you definitely got me beat in that department, lol. You should get someone to take a pic of you while you're in the driver's seat of that car wearing an expression like 'I'm the ****' ...and post it!

BTW does that mean you won't be attending the meets for a while....if so, you're not alone... I'm to embarrased to show up to the meets sittin' on 17 inch OEM wheels. You remember, I had to remove my aftermarket wheels due to the blowout I had...booo

I flew out to meet with Todd (BuiltZmotors) last summer. He let me drive his car so I could a feel for what's it's like to drive a built TT Z....it would be a massive understatement to say that his Z is just ordinarily fast. The whole time I was driving i was like

I can't even put in words the rush I got from driving his car....and I will never forget that day. I would definitely recommend staying away from a built TT Z if you don't want to know what you're missing. Ignorance is bliss is very appropriate in this case

i like the haltech because it seems like they will eventually have more features and better support. really a close call to be honest with you. both cost about the same and both perform really well. ive just been reading a lot of good things about the haltech.
