Default Car audio install shop?

I have my stereo equipment on hand and I'm looking for a place / person who can install my car stereo, nothing fancy. Can anyone advise a reputable shop in the DFW area that can install a mono amp (alpine m450) & zenclosure box with 2 10" subs (alpine type-e) to a bose factory radio?

Thanks,

Mark

Car Toys will (at least everyone I have spoken with, and the quotes they gave me) overcharge you like crazy. I have nothing good to say about car toys.

yeah - i went to car toys and they were charging 120 in parts just to hook up 2 10" and an amp. Then another 120 for the labor...240 sounds a bit extreme.

here is the breakdown:

RCA Cables: $30
Line Out: $40
8 Gauge Amp Kit: $50

Is there anything else needed? Im going to ebay to get these parts so I dont get shafted in that dept.

Check the price point between ebay and the figures they gave you. How much power are you running? You may want to consider 4 or 6 gauge wire if its powerful enough.

Line out $40? Maybe I am just brain farting, but I am drawing a blank what the line out would be that would justify a $40 cost.

Thanks for the note. Below is what I plan on hooking up - again it's nothing fancy.

1. Alpine M450 mono amp
2. 2 10" Alpine Type-E's
3. Zenclosure box.

All of this going to my factory bose system. How hard can it be? If anyone can do the install for me, I'd be happy to pay as I might learn a thing or two about my car. I'll bring all necessary parts for the install. Please advise so I don't get ripped off.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Mark

Earmark, from what I hear, is the best place to go to when doing stereo related install.

Honestly guys if you want to do this right I would suggest an aftermarket unit, and stay away from the Bose head unit. I havent seen good results with that setup, and the forum members will tell you the same from what I have read so far.

My installer should be able to hook up everything for you at a good price. He did my full trunk setup w/ amps, suede wrapped fiberglass shell, boxes, etc. He's about to make me a trunk lid with a fiberglassed LCD monitor.

Give Richard a call: 972-979-7729

Moog,
I'm needing a custom enclosure built housing 2 15" CVRs and 1 10" fosgate... you think richard would be interested... need to price first obviously...

i got shafted the last time i went to a shop in Arlington... so definitely give me a shout before thinking about a shop in Arlington... i just might have something to say about them and their service...

Can any dallas members post pictures of their z trunk and state the name of the shop? Even if its something basic, I'd like to see.

Here is the 2nd part. Should I do all this work with a bose factory?

Or

Should I wait till I get a deal on a double-din (AVIC-D3) and get it all done again.

Don't really want to pay for double labor and I'm dying to get this done.

Thanks amigoz

I posted this already, but given the topic it does not hurt to say it again... get a double din! You do not have to pay out the nose for a DD. Depends on what DD you are looking at because they can run as high as $1500 easy, but I have seen them for as low as $350 for a good unit.
