Default Title Transfer in TX

Hey everyone in TX,

I'm going to buy another member's Z at the end of this week and have a question about the title transfer. Do both parties need to be present at the DMV? From what I remember buying my truck I had the seller sign over the title and then I went to the DMV alone and did what I needed to do there. I'll probably call the DMV if I get a chance in the next couple days, but I thought I'd ask here just because.

the owner doesn't have to be present but a bill of sale is a must.

The seller dont have to be there. Make sure you have the signature of the seller on the "title transfer form" and on the title (front and back). And you need an insurance under your name. The car dosen't has to be on the insurance. last they don't take credit card bring your check book. (^_^)

I can't believe we're still waiting on the title. This sucks big time. I've got to go back to work this Friday and was wanting a few days beforehand to enjoy the Z. I'll stop by the DMV/tax office tomorrow and get any necessary paperwork so that we're ready when it goes down. Let me know Brian!
