Default Update: Custom hks carbon ti single built **PICS**

********EDIT******

Well I got my custom exhaust made today, and it looks and sounds awesome. I couldnt be happier with the results and I feel a huge increase is power. I have yet to install my japtix y-pipe or my UR HFC's. Currently I have the megan y-pipe on with stock cats. I have lots of pictures but they are from my phone. I will try to get a sound clip up asap, love the way the exhaust growls, and there is no rasp what so ever. I made a straight midpipe with out a resonator and got some piping welded to the muffler. I angled the tip a bit to show off the carbon fiber and I think it looks good.

Oh yeah I ended up going with 3" piping. Enjoy

also have my invidia N1 exhaust and megan y-pipe for sale. I loved the way this exhaust sounded also but it was time for a change.

********EDIT******

I am looking to make a custom single exhaust and need some input on this project. The japtrix y-pipe goes from 2.5" piping at the HFC's and merges into a 3" pipe.

2.5" inlet

3" outlet

My question is should I go with a custom 2.5" exhaust or just got with a 3" custom. I am currently n/a and dont see myself going FI anytime in the future and have heard that 3" piping is best for those going FI. If I go with the 2.5" piping will I be losing much power going from a 3" outlet (y-pipe) to a 2.5' inlet (exhaust). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah the piping coming out of the muffler I believe is 75mm which is about 3" if im correct.

congrats on the new exhaust, I know I am always excited when I do something different.

I would be a little bit concerned with adding the new cats and y-pipe. With the added flow you will probably lose a lot of low end torque, but gain top end. To some this doesn't matter but since i daily my car I like to keep the rpm's below 4k.

Setup looks really good.

I love it and I believe you when u say you felt a increase. I had a similar setup on my last car and I felt the difference, more on topend. where did u get the HKS cause I will be doing the same setup as well. I don't know if I'm going with a polish or cf. I'm also getting the resonated fast intention test pipe. problly keeping the stock y-pipe on. let me know if any shops there in SA stocks them, ill drive up there to buy one. Thanks
