Looks like I'm going to wait and save some more cash for the stage II block afterall. I may change my mind later cause I still need to take into consideration the cost of a stage II fuel return, cost to set up the timing components, cost of new injectors, and tuning. If I go for the stage two, I do not want for the fuel return or my injectors to be the limiting factors. Let see what this turbo kit can do! I really believe the head and cam package will push me beyond the 550 mark and closer to 580.

I do not know what I'll do with the other motor. Any takers? Cheap!

These are the quotes I just received from Import Parts Pro!

1. Would you recommend the Stage I or II?

** Stage 2 would be better suited for you goals **

2. If decided on a stage II how much more power can I see with the C2 cams and how much does it affect normal driving?

**** 40-60 more Hp over the Stage 1 ****

3. Your website recommends ARP L19 and mains for anything over 600rwhp. If I keep my power levels as stated between 550-580, would you recommend those or can I use the standard ones you use.

*** For your setup I would strongly recommend the L19 head studs at a minimum. ***

4. What is the possibility of making 600+ with the C2 cams and my current setup?

*** It would be possible with the proper fuel and tuning. ***

I am really interested in going through with this and could possibly make a purchase as early as next month. Can you look over the prices for both the stage I and II and possibly better your online price.

I can assure you that I am 95% certain on purchasing a long block from you but choosing which one greatly will depends on your final quotes.

Quote 1:
Stage I as shown on your website adding the Ceramic/Moly Coating to the Piston Tops and Skirts and HKS headgasket. I will supply the long block ahead of time so no core charge please. Final price after any taxes ect.... Picked up. Out the door.

**** $5035 out the door ****

Quote 2:
Same as above but adding the ARP L19 and mains

***** $5625 out the door *****

Quote 3: (Really interested in this one)
Stage II as shown on your website w/ C2 cams and adding the Ceramic/Moly Coating to the Piston Tops and Skirts and HKS headgasket. I will supply the long block ahead of time so no core charge please. Final price after any taxes ect.... Picked up. Out the door.

***** $6360 out the door *****

Quote 3: (Really interested in this one)
Same as above but adding the ARP L19 and mains

***** $6950 out the door *****

Can you tell me what exactly what would be left to assemble after the long block is picked up and what else I would need to finish it? I may ask you guys to install the timing chain components and set timing. I live in a smallish town with no-one trustworthy enough to finish this.

*** The normal long block package you would need to install the complete timing components, front and rear timing covers, upper and lower oil pans, lower intake, upper intake and fuel rails, and the exhaust and accessories. ***

Yeah, I was driving around with them for a little while and they wanted to follow all the grooves on the road. Very bad shape.

I've been doing a lot of thinking and it looks like I'll have a lot more time to think about it while I save some more cash. Somewhere along the line I have diverted away from my initial plan which was just purchasing a built block and doing the rest like Alex and using my stock heads. That is still an option for me and will definitely keep it in mind. Check out the costs for the built blocks.

This is the one JTran recommended that he'd build for me. After some research, I found Import Parts Pro out of Houston build these same ones.

Keep in mind that this is just the block. You still have to add taxes, shipping (both ways), ARP Head bolts and mains, gaskets, have your heads decked, install the heads and hope they are in good shape, put the cams on and all the timing components, set timing, put back all the covers etc..... After its all said and done, your looking at an additional ~2000 bucks according to what Alex spent on top of his block purchase. Then if you really want to get to 500 rwhp, you need a fuel return system.

So that 2600 dollar block will actually be ~4600 bucks just to put it back in your car. The 3600 dollar block is more like 5600. I think choosing who to put everything back together for you is the hardest part unless there is someone local you can trust. I'm sure I could probably do it but if I'm going to invest that much money, I'd hate to *** something up. I rather pay a little more and at least get the long block where the heads have been checked and installed plus I'll get some port and polishing done to them. All you have left, that is hard, is the timing components and setting timing.

Theoretically, I could just go with the Stage I and be done with it but those cams are soooooooo tempting. Cams are gonna run you bout 1200 bucks but to put them on will cost you a lot cause you literally have to tear the motor down. It really make sense to do it now that the motor is already going to be torn down and re-built. All they have to do is drop them in.

How much power can I make from Stage I to Stage II and is it even worth the additional costs?????? I'm not sure at this point but am open to opinions.

If I knew someone locally that knows his shhhiiitt and could put the heads ect. on a built block, I would consider that and would have money left over to buy some new wheelssssssssss I might just be able to make 500-520 rwhp which is good but to think I could off made more if I'd just spend a little more.

Anyways, I got nothing but time right now especially since my tax return has been delayed yet another month or two Damn IRS. They keep asking for forms that I've already submitted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't make a move until that money is here. Till then I'll keep doing research and think how much money I can save.

I got another one for you guys

sell my turbo kit and all electronics = ~5000
sell all my 350z accesories body kit, seats, = ~1000
sell my 350z =12000
money that I'm saving for the build = 8000

Grand Total = 26000 bucks. Ok ok maybe 24000 or so

What would you do?

1) Stick with the Z and go through with the build.
2) Move on to something different. Possibly something all ready fix up to the same potential or better
3) A Supra (Danny)
and on n on n on
