nice to have your opinion, but i was trying to suggest an alternative for ZKansasZ instead of buying used stock 08 suspension. i don't know what year car he has or how many miles are on it, but im sure he is on his original shocks that are probably far past the life expectancy. he merely asked if a stock set-up was worth $200, not what sway bars will give him better times at the next SCCA event

Coil-overs are over kill, IMO, on a daily driver that doesn't see different settings for different track events at least once a month. However I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I would save for the Konis instead of settling for the Tokico's. I'd also invest on a set of adjustable sway bars over struts/shocks first. I still stand behind the Hotchkis TVS kit. It doesn't "slam" the car but gives a nice stance and the sways are one, if not the, best out there for the Z33.

yup, sumarize over all of this debate, I am on a tight budget, though...
I have an 03 and I am pretty sure that my oem suspension was gone with the wind.
Im just looking for an alternative for DD, on a budget, not on baller's pockets! hehehe...
that's being said, THANK YOU for all the supports and advices, everyone!
Now, if I lower the car, then I'd have to deal with front and rear camber kit and lower arms, etc...which will create more expense....
that was why i just want stock ride for now...
so, Tokicos and "normal springs" then? lol

A good friend of mine suggested the KYB GR2's instead of the Tokico Blues mainly because the Tokico Blues tend to not last. I have 2 kids in College and my Z is my DD so I was on a budget as well and like RobertK mentioned, I don't track my Z so I just needed to replace my OEM's. The KYB's were $320 or so to my door and they're slightly stiffer than OEM but are still very comfortable and surefooted. Check them out.
the KYB are definately a good bargain and are similar to the TOKICO, both have a lifetime warranty and can be returned for new ones. the monroe sensatrack from O'Reillys also have lifetime warranty and can be exchanged, it comes down to a matter of where you purchase them for convenience of the exchange. the KYB are instock at BAP-GEON.
