Responsibilities:
Network administration
- router and switch configuration, wifi network
- VPN management
- MPLS site-to-site VPN w/ XO
- Internet service management - external access to internal e-mail server, external database access, managing ISP interactions
- Hardware upgrades and acquisitions
Server administration
- Internal Linux servers running intranet web services (MoinMoin wiki, Request Tracker database, Zimbra e-mail, FogBugz)
- Internal Windows servers - database server & remote connector, Windows Domain server
- Account administration - Zimbra mail, Windows Domain users
- Source code servers - SVN code server w/ Trac wiki, future Mercurial code server
- Build servers – manage centralized Linux and Windows build servers
- Hardware upgrades and acquisitions
PC and printer administration
- Hardware management – sourcing, upgrades, repairs
- OS management – OS versions, security updates, patches
- General application management – office software, presentation software, web browser, and related client software
- Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX tech support for internal systems
- Enterprise Business software administration – ERP implementation and management
- Web server administration – DNS, management of multiple web based technologies
- Service interoperability with mobile devices such as iPhone, Blackberry, Android, etc.
- Phone system management - VOIP (SIP w/ XO)
- Disaster planning: off-site back up, recovery procedures, etc.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Linux server experience, including shell programming knowledge
- Strong Microsoft Server knowledge (MCP, MCSE or equivalent experience)
- Experience with Mac OSX
- Strong understanding of network technologies including layer 2 switching, VLANs, QoS, NAT, layer 3 routing, MPLS, VPN (currently SSL based)
- Ability to develop and communicate update strategies without disrupting the in-use "live" environment
- Prior Cross site management and coordination experience
- Self-motivated and independent
- Team player with high software quality standards and expectations
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Works well without need for extensive personal supervision
