Default Favorite Roads

455 is my current favorite. I probably hit this road at least once on the weekend.

This route is a fun one. FM121 is hilly and FM455 is twisty:

What are your favorite North Texas roads?

I guess nobody has any favorite cruising roads cause we're just parking lot ******.

I have a few that I hit on the bike. Maybe I should cruise them in the Z and see how it is.

when i do a highway cruise late at night i go from bedford, 183 east to loop 12 to 35 north, the 635 west, to 121 south to 183 west back home. takes about 25 to 30 minutes depending on how fast i go. not much in the way of curves but a lot of room to stretch the legs on the old girl .

Well for us in the world of mortal horsepower numbers we have more fun with corners. You go right ahead and enjoy sucking up those straights at the speed of light.

lol. there is a small stretch on 635 West in the Irving area that has a few dips and going over those at 130mph+ gets interesting.

Yup. Right between 35 and 161 coming back to FTW. I've done that on the bike, but not quite as fast in the Z.

I don't know any good twist roads locally, but my usual cruise route when I'm bored is 26->precient->183 east->gwb starting

From there I'll either go GWB->635->75N->GWB and roll back down to either 114->121->183->pct->26 to apartment, or 635->75S->35E towards denton->635->114

OR, I'll take the GWB all the way out to where it meets up with the DNT, and either head north for a bit then turn around and roll back to the GWB via the DNT.

If I'm in the mood for some leg stretching with one very fun turn, its easy: 635->DNT north.

If I'm in the mood to really get out for a bit, cruise, and have some fun...

26->pct->183E->35E->75 north->GWB back towards fort worth->183W->820 all the way out to where it meets up with 20 near weatherford->20->35W south->exit either western center or north tarrant, and roll back to the apartment.

For a "quickie", 820 south to 287, 287, exit heritage, stop at the beer stop to flirt with Amanda and Sam and grab a Monster, then there are some fun sweepers and twisties up that way, take 35 for an easy ride home. Every now and then I'll be that creep that just cruises up and down Southlake Blvd or a Beach Street/Western Center/377/North Tarrant loop around.

And sometimes I'll just hop in the car, put on either 80s hair metal or 97.1 or trance/house, and just drive to wherever I end up. Those usually end up the most fun.

You talking about 287 and Heritage in Mansfield? Which beer stop? I used to have a beer delivery route down there.

THE beer stop, lol. The one that is all family run, just after Herritage comes down from two lanes to one.

Oh ok. Ya that's the one that was opened up after I left the beer company. I delivered next door to there, but never that one.

There's tons of awesome back roads/service roads by the airport haha...coming from Houston where it's all flat, hills and twistys are amazing. Ive went to Dallas and surroundings area before numerous times however not recently since I've bought the Z but I was in town this week and had a blast...sadly not in the Z haha

I like going out to the outskirts of rockwall. There's a lot of twisty roads out there with minimal polizei to interfere. Just cruise country backroads and you'll find something.
