Tuning options in DFW
So true...Cobb blew up my friends G35...but they at least bought him a new motor..

My vote will always be UPREV in Austin - its worth the trip which I still need to make.. Just my opinion..

Ya I forgot about jotech. There's also another one in garland over by Jupiter and miller. I can't remember the name of it. I'll call my friend tonight about it. That's where he go his sr tuned for his 240.
Check out Pro Tuning Performance in Fort Worth. They are a smaller shop, but they do great work and are building a strong reputation. I have met many people at track days who use PTP. They are a road racing focussed tuner, but can do just about anything. The best part is that they match prices, or get as close to them as possible.
When I was there last to have diff. bushings installed they had a race ready M3 on the shop floor, a S4 turbo they were building up, a sweet 240sx (man I miss both my 96 and 97 sometimes)and a very nice s2000 with volks that was getting individual throttle bodies and some bolt ons.
They have great customer service, and are all around nice guys. Forrest and Kyle own the shop. Call them at 817 926 8863. http://protuningperformance.com/

Import Car Performance in Grapevine does good work as well, and they have a DynoDynamics dyno. They were originally called Import Car Center, but five or six years ago started focussing on BMW and Porsche performance work. The shop has a good reputation and has been around for like 20 years. They do not specialize in Nissans, but it is where I took my 240sx and I was always happy with their work.

Is there anybody that has had a really good tune in the DFW area ?
Why is does JoTech get such a bashing from the locals ?
I have been there for a couple of things.....maybe not a major Tune....but for simple mods and have always had great service and fine results.
I would be willing to give them a go at an UpRev tune if they are qualified.

I wouldn't say locals bash Jotech. Everyone who has had dealings at Jotech all seem pretty happy so it is pretty well respected
. Some of the stuff that comes out of that shop is pretty amazing too lol
. Kenny, Tony and all those guys are really cool and service is awesome (from my own experience), but like Jason said they have pretty steep labor prices
. I'm not sure about the dyno tuning prices, I've only had a baseline dyno done there but that wasn't anymore expensive than getting dynoed anywhere else. Plus they have two relatively new in-ground dynojets (one AWD). I'll still go to them for anything I can't do myself, but the prices make it hard to frequently get work done there
.
I would for sure go to them if they start doing Uprev tuning. I've been down to austin and all those guys at Uprev are cool as hell, but you do have to set a day aside to get down there, get tuned and drive back (I usually just crash at my old roommate's place haha)
. Kenny is a great tuner and definitely knows his stuff, but again it comes down to price.

Corbin got an UPREV tune at this place - http://www.awdtuning.com/services.cfm
sed he got 14whp extra on the tune alone on his 370z. might be something to check out since they are in flower mound.

JoTech are great guys, and for the most part they know their stuff. I think the "bashing" comes from the fact that you pay the GTR tax on everything. But if they are getting the UpRev certification, then they may be the place to go.
Keith at AWDtuning is good people to some, and the devil to others. One of my retard friends had his Scooby tuned and built there, and he expected it to be some overnight thing. And his failboat self install of an alarm system with imobalizer caused some issues down the line. But I have another buddy with an STI who swears by Keith.
There is Bailey's out here on our side of the Dallas/Tarrant county line, and he does a TON of Nissan stuff, but my understanding is it is all street tuning. He has done a bunch of RB swaps.
I know one of the guys from PTP, he comes out to our Mazda meets and is a good guy, but like they say, they are more of a track type of shop. They can get you set up anyway you want for suspension, and they built a monster TT Audi S4, but I don't know what they can do in regards to ECU tuning. That being said, I got nothing but good to say about them because they really helped me out with some brake issues I had on my Speed3.
There is always Cobb in Plano, but while they are nice guys, I don't really have to much credit to give them. Half their staff is ex Subaru of Plano, and it looks like some of the above guys have had their own issues with Cobb. That, and if you aren't using an AP, there is no reason to even go there other than to get a baseline dyno.
