The monthly meeting of the Z Club of Texas is scheduled for March 18th starting at 7:30 p.m. at Juan's Hacienda in Plano just off Hwy 75. See www.zcluboftexas.org for more details.
We have managed to scrouge up just ONE MORE JDM Nismo 2004 calender for auction, and there will be a bunch of door prizes as well. Guest speaker will be there. Hope to see you there!

What how does one benefit from being a member of the Z club? Are newsletters or such sent out? Are meetings mandatory every so often? Do you guys welcome non-members with Z's to show up and hang out ?
Thanks!

Great questions! The Z Club of Texas is a car club that is involved/sponsors a variety of activities for a group of people who have banded together for the love of and/or their enthusiasm for the Z car, whether from the Z's beginnings with the Datsun 1600 & 2000 roadster, all the way to today's Nissan 350Z. We have discounts or special consideration provided by numerous club sponsors that are associated with the car, car accessories, or car care products. Other benefits I can pass on are the knowledge and sharing of car care/maintenance knowledge (which has helped me keep my 1972 240Z alive!), networking of information relating to Z car ownership, as well as the sharing of some 'insider' information about Nissan due to the close ties some members of the club have. The best endorsement I can give from my 16 years membership though is this: Although initially it was my ownership of a Z car that brought me to the club, it is the true friendships developed with this wonderful group of people in the club that have remained! They are a great and fun group to do things with. And what do we do you ask? Well, we participate in car cruises, car shows/displays, caravans/outings to the many places of interest Texas has to offer, sponsor/participate in driver education events (helps you better be able to control your car in an emergency or at the limit), socialize, hold monthly meetings, caravan to both local, regional and the National Z Conventions, and rally to the cause of those less fortunate than ourselves through the support of Ronald McDonald's House and the Women in Need Shelter.
The Z Extra is the monthly club newsletter. We have just switched to a schedule though, that makes the newsletter available on-line certain months, and is mailed to member's home other months. {You can view the February 2004 issue featuring photos of last year's National Z Convention in New Hampshire online at www.zcluboftexas.org by clicking on NEWSLETTER in the left hand menu.}
Meetings are held every month, but attendance is in no way mandatory -- in fact, there are overseas members and there are out-of-state ZCoT members who have been to only one meeting ever! With the onset of Daylight Saving Time, attendance at the meetings usually perks up, as the additional daylight gives more time to hang out in the parking lot with our cars. Non-members are always welcome - how else would the club attract prospective new members? Of course, every visitor is encouraged to join!
I hope you will consider coming next Thursday, and that you like what you see and experience enough to join us in the family of Z owners. Membership is all about having FUN! Please PM me if there are any other questions you have, Lee!cheers,
The ZCoT is a great group of people, of all ages and backgrounds. I believe we are one of,if not the largest, Z club in the Nation. with us the Z is not just a car, Its a lifestyle.
