Default Emanage or TS reflash?

Anyone using the emanage care to elaborate on the following:
1. difficulty of install
2. difficulty of tuning - can it be tuned via laptop?

I am going to be getting all my aftermarket parts on in the coming month and would like to get the car tuned and found the emanage is roughly the same price as getting the cars ecu sent to TS. I have a shop that will give me an hour of dyno time/tuning for $125, which I would be getting anyways to get my A/F ratios in order to send TS my ECU

I will have the following parts done:
Topspeed headers
Labree Resonated testpipes
Crawford plenum
Injen Intake
Bored throttlebody - proflow
Greddy EVO2 exhaust
Unorthodox crank pulley

Why do you say the AAM reflash vs the TS reflash?

I just sent off my ECU to TS today for the "Crawford" re-flash. Should have it back Thur. & will post performance observations (if you haven't already read enough of them - ha!). Kinda anxious here..........

Did you send A/F ratios to them along with your ECU??

Zivman - I have an early model '04 (10/03) with the '03 ECU in it so no A/F numbers were required. The '03 ECU's have 2 letters on the ID tag vs. 1 letter & 1 number on later ECU's. I read on TS's site that for the later ECU's the A/F #'s need to be sent in for the full re-flash. After calling both TS & Doug @ Crawford's this morning, this was confirmed. The "Crawford" re-flash with TS is pretty much a re-flash done based on the trial & errors Doug & his crew & TS went thru til finally finding the "right" parameters. A small amount of adjustments may be made depending on the type of exhaust, CAI, etc., but for the most part, the Crawford re-flash is based on the plenum, cats & headers and show excellent results (based on the 4-5 people I know who have had it done). We'll see...........

will the dealers find out about the ECU flash? i have an e-manage sitting here too but i want to raise the rev limit. Is it better off to get TS ECU reflash in terms of AF adjustments?

As a follow-up from yesterday, just got a call from TS & the re-flash went great and it's shipping out today overnight. Should have it back in Thur. & will comment.

M23 - TS states on their website that the re-flash cannot be detected with a dealer's ConsultII. Don't know about that....we'll see. A Nissan tech buddy of mine has a Consult II & we'll hook it up next week to see. As for emanage, I'm in the dark on those - maybe someone more knowledgeable can comment there. I do know that several fellas I've talked to that have had the TS re-flash done on n/a engines said the a/f was fine. I'm mostly looking forward to the raised redline & the timing retard at upper RPM's - a lot of power still there between 6.5k - 7k rpm's.

I would take it to the dyno and confirm the AF, not knocking TS but I have seen a couple of Z's with TS reflashes that have been on the lean side.

Westpak - You're absolutely correct on getting the a/f checked after a TS re-flash. I have read a few posts where the a/f was lean after the flash, for sure. I'm banking on the fact that I had the "Crawford" 6MT re-flash done (was trialed & errored for several months between Doug & his crew & TS before a truly successful & safe set of parameters was reached) and that mine will turn out like all of my friends that have had that particular flash done with no lean problems. Still going to dyno it, though. Getting the JWT clutch & flywheel done next week and will dyno it at that time.

my AAM reflash has been doing awesome.

my mods: nismo intake, kinetix plenum, crawford cats, borla exhaust

before the reflash, i could barely beat a stock z. it seemed like the mods were worthless.

after the reflash, i can now walk that same car. i just keep on pulling and pulling to no end. and i can beat an s2k with intake/exhaust/rims just a little worse.

great job AAM

is that mean i don't need to send dyno with A/F ratio to TS for the flash? I have a 03 ECU...

Right - no dyno with a/f needed on '03 ECU's......wouldn't hurt however if you had them & sent them in.

Z CRUZN: Def let us know how it feels, and dyno numbers after reflash. I myself will be going that exact route.

maximumsportZ - Got the ECU back at 11 am this morning & just got back from the first test drive with the TS "Crawford" ECU re-flash - WOW!! I let the Z warm up a bit after the install (rather "cool" here - 30 degrees!! - after sitting for a couple days), then drove a bit to let all the fluids warm up nicely. Then took it out to a smooth 4 lane bit of road where it's pretty safe to let 'er rip and.......man, the difference is quite noticeable! Can feel more low-end torque up to 3500 rpm, and definitely more power from 5k up!!! A wierd feeling taking it up to 7100 rpm for the first time, but man it felt good to see that needle at the 7 on the tach - ha! The tires actually broke loose a bit at 4500 rpm in 1st after accelerating from a dead stop (slipped the clutch a bit from the dead stop so no excessive wheel spin...then floored in the rest of the way til it broke loose at 4500 - wow!). The power surge in each gear from 4500-5000 all the way to 7000 was very impressive. I am VERY pleased!! Feels like a different car....... finally get to reap the benefits of all the expensive-**** n/a mods I've done - Yippee!!!!!

Will post dyno results in the next week or so after I get the flywheel & clutch in.

I have the Technosquare reflash (Crawford Package) and couldn't be happier with it. In fact I had it done when I had all the Crawford mods except the headers along with an intake and exhaust.

Z CRUZN, Just give it a couple of days to fully adjust to your mods and it will be even better. It was the second day after I got my headers on before I could really tell how much more power they gave me. Even with the TS reflash the computer has to adjust to your car, but it only takes a day or two.

Also how do you like your Goodyear F1 GS-D3 tires? I just ordered a set today to go with the Nismo wheels I bought last week. Can't wait to get them on.

Im gonna put in a vote for the Tecnosquare reflash. I had my car reflashed by them-I sent in my most recent dyno with the a/f readings, and when I redynoed my car 1 week later, I put down 9 whp and 13 ft lbs more, with a PERFECT 13.1 a/f from 2000-7100 rpm's, I couldnt be happier with it.

ZPirate - You're gonna LOVE your new GS-D3's...excellent dry traction, excellent in rain, very quiet. I've got 10k on mine and the tread is still way over half...of course with the new ECU re-flash the rears may take a beating now - ha! Thanks for giving me even more to look forward to as the ECU adapts!!

Altered Atmosphere http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/ They are commonly referred to as AAM (Altered Atmosphere Motorsports).

The whole body kit is GReddy, so the front bumper/lip is GReddy.
