I just got my UTEC tuned this weekend, and i got a 13whp gain. but i have a CEL that is just constantly on(rigth from when i start the car)
so:
- have any of you guys had this problem before?
- should i reset the ecu? how do i do it?
- will resetting the ecu make me loose the map on the utec?
some n00be questions here, hope you guys can help me.

A scan tool will read and clear the code, but will it come back if condition still exists. I'd go this route to see what the problem is. autozone should be able to read and clear for you.
to reset ecu, go to technosquares website; they have the procedure posted. this will not clear your utec map (which you have saved, right?)
btw, who did your tuning?

Technosquare website has the procedures for checking CEL's and getting the cods via blinking dash light using the throttle procedure, its easy to do just have to time everything right or use a code reader to see what the specific code is, we cant really tell you if its normal unless we know the code. The resetting of the code/ecu will not clear any of your UTEC maps.
There are two switches on the UTEC under the TurboXS logo. If they are in the wrong place, it will cause a CEL. They should both be down towards the harness port IIRC (check manual to be sure).
Just an idea...

This seems to be my first test to check what the problem is...
So they should both be pointing down towards the ports huh
THe CEL light was inmediate so i am pretty sure its not related to a particular problem other than somethign with the utec.
Anymore comments are welcomed... Thanks

Could be, but without having the actual trouble code ffrom the ECU there is no point in speculating anything at this point. There is no way to diagnose the problem without first knowing the codes on the car..

Quksilver
Crank over the motor to start it & check the voltage on the volt meter.
If it drops below 9 volts on cranking you will get a CEL 0150 (ignition circuit)
The UTEC's power supply is from the factory ECU & if your battery is low the combined current draw of both units on cranking will trigger a CEL.
To check, use a battery pack or jump start leads to start & see if that fixes the problem.

i used techno square method to reset the ecu. this does not affect the utec
tune was 350. main goal was gain a bit more power than the provided map and secure a/f ratio.
mods i ave are:
injen cai
injen ses
ur crank p.
res test pipes
md 5/16 spacer
b&m shifter
