Default Where to get a good tunein SoCal

Hey guys I have a Popcharger, and HKS true-dual exhaust. I am also going to put in a MD 5/16 plenum spacer. Where do you guys suggest I get a tune from and how much would it cost in general. Anything else I need like UTEC? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Also I am located in Arcadia cloase to pasadena.

Thanks Guys

Ted

I know from Arcadia to Torrance is kinda far. But you might want to check out Harman Motive. They do some really good tuning. And their prices are okay.

SAm from GT Motorsports. Best tune I ever got. You're in good hands with Sam and he tunes a lot of Utecs.

I live in Miami and drove 8 hours to Atlanta. I heard Sam was coming out here so I set it to have my car tuned while he was here.

Question Tune really needed with these mods?

I have the same question as fairlady350z33. With my few NA mods and no plans for FI would I benefit from a tune, re-flash or a utec?

Fairlady350z33 - yes you do need somekind of tuning device...such as UTEC, Greddy Emanage Ultimate, Apex S-AFCII...etc etc...

Will tuning be necessary? Depends on what Air/fuel ratio you're currently at...and the only way to find out, is to hook it up to a wideband o2 sensor...when you dyno, they usually hook up a wideband o2 to check your afr...if your afr is already looking good, then tuning wouldn't be necessary...if your afr is real rich, yes, tuning might be justifiable

Ok, where to go locally to get such a device and a dyno. Is there a place where we could get this in one stop in the OC area???

Thanks steven88. So I need to get dynoed, which dyno is better to show true and NOT INFLATED #'s? Where can I get a good dyno. GT Motorsports, anybody know where they are located? if not i might have to go to harmon motive. How much do UTEC and those other devices go for?

Thanks guys
Ted

I would recommend Church's automotive (very respected in the so cal area)...but they use a dynapack (which is inflated)....I still think its worth a shot going to church's...I mean, there IS a forumla u can ask Shawn Church...on how to convert the dynapack #s into the dynojet...

it's $160 per hr for dyno tuning services...a quick search on ebay yielded me approximately $900 shipped for a TurboXS UTEC...I'm sure you can get it a little cheaper if you shopped around...

Apex S-AFCII runs for like $220 shipped on ebay...real cheap and fairly effective tuning device....

Greddy E-manage Ultimate will run you about $600 shipped...

I'm not sure about OC area...where exactly are you located? Church's is located in Wilmington (LA county)...you can also try R&D DYno in Gardena as well...I heard they were very good too...

You should probably do some more research. Most people do not spend $1k or so on the UTEC plus $500 on tuning for an NA application.
