OK i bought a utec, i tried connecting through my serial cable on my desktop with the 9v it wouldnt then finally it did. I went to put the new map in and by accident hit delete map,then it froze after and i couldnt get back in. Sometimes id get a screen, then it would shut off after. So today my friend came over who has it in his wrx, we put it in my car then tried it with the belkins cable. He finally got in and all was fine but under maps ...maps 1,2,3 were missing. So he got out and was gunna reload the software...and it wouldnt connect to reload and now i cant even get back in...So what the hell is going on here? Can anyone help me out i just want to put a turbonetics base map on and drive my car.

Get a USB printer cable and try that.. Many of us using the UTEC only use that and it works alot better than the serial cable..

Basically....i tried everything different cables and everything....finally i just picked one and stuck with it, the printer usb then

I turned the car off and set the first switch so i could reprogram it.
Tried flashing but kept fail
Lowered the baud rate and tried again till it finally loaded it
turned the car back off and flipped the other switch up
Flashed the throttle portion into it
turned the car back off and put the switchs back to normal
and it worked fine after, now i can get in everytime no problem.
