Default 06 Swap in 03 with Hydra EMS

Hi. I'm interested in doing a swap of an 06 engine into an 03. The reason being is that if I install a Hydra stand alone EMS, the unit will control not only the camshafts timing in a closed loop session but I can also play with the exhaust valve timing and hopefully gaining torque.

Is this really dumb or is it doable? Anybody knows if its possible? I'm looking for pros and cons of the swap and see if its worth it.

I don't really know how the 350z Hydra application interacts with the stock variable cam timing system. If there are separate solenoid/pwm drivers for the intake and exhaust cams, the Hydra should be able to control each individually with a 3D map (ie. X: RPM, Y: Load, Z: TPS) However, if there's just essentially a switch that moves between the emissions and the lumpy cam lobes, then there's probably not a whole lot to be gained.

Hydra will only control the intake cams, not the exhaust cams.
