utech emp corrections
quick ? for u utec user out there. if the temp correction values are all 0's would that explain why i can only use 1/4 throttle before the car goes way rich and looses all power? it used to be about 3/4 throttle but now with the days tipping 100 here it's just about undrivable. if so are the temp corrections from turbo xs's web site the best to use?
what temp was your car tuned? For example if your car was tuned or running perfect at 21C-30C AIT then if the AIT goes to 40C then you will go rich without subtracting fuel. Do some run and see what is the AIT and try subtracting 1-2% at a time and see if it makes a difference..
Can anyone give some insight as to how the temp compensation spreadsheet is to be used? The UTEC has basically two columns: one for fuel, one for timing (for all temp ranges). The spreadsheet only has one. Can someone give more details on this UTEC feature?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I never trusted it since it never work for me. The best way is just trial and error. Either way even TurboXS state those #'s are just an estimate, to many factor to consider for that sheet to be accurate.. It is really not that hard to change the value so just increase/decrease the % on the temp compensation a little and monitor your A/F. This is why I love UTI logging, it also logs the AIT and Coolant temp. This makes a lot easier to change my temp compensation #'s. Don't bother with the timing since you don't want Utec changing your timing...
athenG - what version are you using of UTI to get IAT logging? I haven't even done that yet, only checked IAT while cruising around with the UTEC dashboard open.
OP - Are you sure this is a temp correction problem? When you say lose all power - is it really bad? Or just not as much power as you used to experience? If every time you go over 1/4 throttle, no matter what RPM, then there might be something else going on. I'm running a Vortech and have no big issues w/o adjusting temp correction yet.

UTI 2.7.X never worked with just the Utec but it start working with the Tuner+Utec!!!
OP, are you saying 1/4 tps even without boost? if this is the case then it could be something else coz Utec is not in control yet.
Edit: If you are NA then I'll look somewhere else...
i played with the temp correction it just leaned me out at lower rpm. that wasn't the promblem as far as i could tell so i decided to change the plugs thinking mabye running at 7:1 might have fouled them. well that lead to the discovery of 2 bad tube seals on the valve cover (oil was all the way over each plug ) so im taking car of that and hopefully for the first time i can drive my z wot
