that is what I mean for safety... if I have to stay only on the road and have some spirited drive on the hills.. ok I'll go for the "show time" power...optimizing AFR and timing to the limit....
having several track days... well... I don't mind "lose" 5 to 10hp to the top and be safe with keeping temperatures down... but don't be too rich to wash out the oil from the cylinders.

We can set new targets and remove a fair bit of the adjustment, but the ECU does what the ECU does.

The flash that they produce is equivalent to the base tune that we send out. We use that to get base information and adjust the tune to the car. The base tunes in a prebuilt flash may work for upwards of 30% of the vehicles out there but in no way can be expected to work on 100% of the vehicles. Hence the money back guarantee.
Right. there is no universal tune that works on all cars. however for the majority of car owners on a budget, if you get an AFR reading on a pre-reflash dyno, TS will tune the ECU to get power and improve throttle response and overall driveability. The tune is done at proper places throughout the map. its not just a 'canned' program that is the same for everyone. It's modified individually for each owner, and based on their modification list.

Please dont theorize on other companies pricing policies. If you have issues with a MBG and your company can't provide one, then obviously thats ur choice. Just so happens that TS does. thats just how it goes. They have a money back guarantee for a reason. Its for customer satisfaction and they stand by their product 100%.. Not because their tune won't work in 100% of the cars.. of all the so called 'issues' they've seen, its not the reflash that resulted in poor numbers, it was due to the pre-exisiting issues in the car, either an exhaust leak, poor engine condition, bad gas, bad pre-flash dyno sheet provided, etc. and even then, if the customer is still unhappy, Techno will try their best to make it work out.

This really isnt a place to argue for which company is best. this was a thread for 'list of nice ecu prices'

oh 1 more thing.

the $550 Full spec reflash is for all VQ35DE, Revup VQ35, and the new VQHRs, as well as the VQ37s.

Boosted applications (SC/ ST/ TT) is available, using ANY injector size, and retaining MAF.

Right and I stated we do the same mail in flash at $400. The flash in their mail in is based on a vehicle that is similar in setup to the one you have, same as ours. The difference being that with our full system for $700 we send out the cable so the customer never has to remove the ECU from their car, they get 3 free eTunes to adjust to their exact car rather than a base tune, and they get Cipher as an added benefit.
