Thumbs up Greddy Intelligent Infometer Touch

Hey whats new all. I was reading up on the Greddy Intelligent Infometer Touch and it looks like the next best thing since sliced bread. I call Greddy in NJ and they said it's suppose to come out the first week in December for the mere price of 400 bucks. It's out already throughout the Pacific (i.e. Japan, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) since September. Here are some of the specs I gathered from it over the time I spent researching it.

From Negun.com

* 3.5" 65,546 Color TFT Screen capable of displaying up to 6 signals at once
* Completely touch scren, configured by simply touching the screen
* Can be installed in 3 different layouts
* Connects to ISO14230 connector
* Connects to old Nissan CONSULT with additional harness
* Connects to the latest CAN connector
* Can display from 53 signals, see the Greddy website for more details
* 15min signal record playback with warning and peak hold
* Displays in Metric or SEA options
* Displays in English or Japanese
53 gauges all in one.. no more messy gauges in your car !

Can show up to 6 items on the screen at anyone time.

Revs (RPM)
Speed (KM/H or MPH)
Ignition Timing (degrees)
Throttle position (%) - cable
Throttle voltage (V) - fly by wire
Water temp (C or F)
Inlet temp (C of F)
Airflow (V)

Inlet manifold pressure (bar) - AKA Boost!
Airflow (G/S) - ???
Injector Timing (Milliseconds)
Injector Duty Cycle (%)
Air to Fuel ratio
Inlet Valve Timing (degrees)
Exhaust Valve Timing (degrees)
Gear position - for Tiptronic and Autos
Power - (PS or HP)
Trip meter (km or m)
Fuel consumption - instant (KM/L or MPG)
Fuel consumption - average (KM/L or MPG)
Fuel consumption - total (KM/L or MPG)
Fuel consumption - selected section (KM/L or MPG)
Total fuel in tank - (L or G)
Calculated fuel cost - Yen or Dollar (you tell it how much it costs per litre)
Fuel system - ???
Short term fuel trim - (%)
Long term fuel trim (%)
Oxygen sensor voltage (V)
Battery voltage (V)
Wastegate solenoid duty cycle (%)
Auto Trans Fluid Temp (C or F)
Exhaust manifold temp (C or F)

To check application use the link below, and select your car from the top fields.
We can also supply the Nissan Non-OBD Harness at an extra cost.

I think the coolest feature on it is that is also acts as a OBD II scanner/reader and allows you to reset codes (which I think is hella cool). Also it can read up to 6 parameters at once with the ability to do dataloging. It seems like it does all the things that Cipher and more for less.. Anyone else has input on this?

Cipher actually does a bit more as far as reading info and how much info can be datalogged/displayed. Also Cipher is $300.

Cipher doesn't come with the touch screen display though, so it's really two different beasts. The Greddy unit is a cool display, and an alternative for products like the PLX OBDII display.

The nice thing about the PLX is you can add their extra iMFD sensor modules to it if you want aftermarket sensors, also it is a round gauge that mounts in standard gauge cups.

Either one is a good choice.

Good insight. I think I like both products, but the greddy catches my eye I wont have to keep my computer hooked up in my car. I hever heard of the plx device going to do my research on it now

Thx,

Jon

I have to admit, Greddy makes things very pretty. I've used PLX for years now and they always have the coolest new stuff out. I think they may even have their newer R800 unit out that is far better looking than the round gauge unit I linked. Plus they have one device that grows plants if you drive more conservatively! hah.

Yeah after looking at the PLX device I wouldn't want another gauge looking device in my car. For some reason the cops here like almost anywhere else looks for random gauges or the fighter cockpit in the interior and get a hard on. If this device is as great as they are making it out to be it will be a welcome addition to my car since it takes away all the Christmas tree colors emitting from gauges. The greddy infometer is called the eco. I was looking at that I thought it was a bit lame, but from living in Japan I know a majority of chics have this in their cars.
