Most I have seen who bought it seem to sell it shortly there after. Spend the same amount and get Osiris. It is better in every conceivable way.

First off.....what year is your car. If it is an 03-04 it is more economical to find a tuner in your area to dyno tune it. The 03-04's don't have a built in wideband like the latter models. Most tuners offer it as a reflash (~400) and 250-400 for custom tuning. Only diff between that and ordering the Standard from UPREV is that the flash/tuning by a local tuner is you won't get the cipher cable. I recommend you contact UPREV on here and ask for his assistance and recomendation on pro tuner and what will work best for you. Hope that helps.

P.S don't quote me on the prices, but figure it will be b/w 700-850 total.

You don't even have to so much "use" it. You're fairly close to R/T Tuning or Function:TUNED. Osiris is $400, and I'm not sure what those shops charge for a dyno tune, but most of our Pro Tuners are under $400 for dyno tuning an fairly mild NA car. I can't see them going over that unless there is something they notice wrong with your car once it's on the dyno.

You can optionally purchase Osiris Standard for $700 and do a base tune (similar to what Cobb is offering but more detailed towards the actual mods you have) and do the eTune updates to further refine your tune to your actual car. You're just better off doing a dyno tune to get the most power, efficiency and safety out of the car if you're close enough to a Pro Tuner.

Function Tuned . Bit of drive, but worth it. Should aslo be said that it would be more economical to be set on your mods before tuning. Not that you can't retune after a certain mod, but since it is a bit of a drive and the additional cost of a quick retune (typically not nearly as expenisve as the original tune) it would be more efficient. Osiris for me atleast has been the best bang for the buck mod I have done.

http://www.functiontuned.com/

Edit: To be honest, Cobb isn't really work well with VQ mode. I rather pay little more and get the orisis for sure.

Function Tuned is in Dulles, VA. It is 400 for the base flash AND 300-400 for the tune. He is highly recommended by UPREV and members in the Middle Atlantic. Yes it is a dyno tune and you will see before and after results.

so do i have to buy utec or do they just reflash it all and its a done deal? if i buy utec is it user friendly? like i dot know how to tune a car. would i still be able to reflash my ecu with it effectively or would i still need to take it some place to get it tuned?

Function can do reflash your ECU or tune your car with Utec or they can do both.

Personally for a car with your mods I don't think utec is worth the extra cost. I know a few people who of late had issues with drivability of their utec and switched to osiris with great results. Both are quality systems, but osiris will be cheaper. You don't need to do anything. Dave at function tuned does it all.

Utec is a piggyback, you'll pay for the hardware and the installation.

Osiris is software that gets installed on your factory ECU. Nothing to install, and no hardware to buy, unless you want Cipher for data logging and diagnostics.

so basically the osiris is a tune to my specific mods? so this is something that should be done when all other bolt ons are on right? how much is it? is there any place close to nj or in nj that can do osiris to my car? i dont have cruise control so i would be stuck with one map right?
