hey guys so i am for sure a tuning newb but i have a few questions. Is it possible to open source the 370z? what all would you need to do it program wise? I have a friend who tunes cars via opensource and he wasnt sure if it was possible on these cars. Like i said i dont know much about it, so any information i can gather would be GREAT! Thanks in advance.

 

I've not heard of anything opensourced for the 370's yet. Only Cobb and UpRev as far as I know. Apparently, there is some difficulty cracking the VVEL and timing tables. The only thing that can be adjusted currently are AF and Ignition Timings.

 

There are no opensource options for Nissan VQ engines.

Although newer HR engines are more restrictive in terms of tuning, those with older DE models (like me !) can play with cam timing on uprev.

 

I've experimented with Opensource on my WRX. Fun DIY stuff. Too bad it's not available for the VQ yet.
