first off, i know nothing about tuning....So, i called to find out about dyno tuning at a local shop. they told me that part of the cost..they need to drill into my exhaust & weld a bung and i have to rent their wide band 02? does this sound correct? if this is true, should i just buy an innovate db w/ lc-1 or aem wideband??
I'm buying the osiris tuner, and that's what the shop will use, as they haven't tuned many of our cars. closest Pro tuner is 18hrs away, so this is my best option.....unless i just get osiris standard and get the flashes.
PLEASE...any input is greatly appreciated.

That sounds a bit extreme! I do not have to drill or weld anything in customers' 350Zs to get a wideband while dyno tuning, you can just remove one of the stock sensors temporarily. Also what year is your car?

also...if i run an aem/innovate, do i only need to run a sensor on one side? is the a/f ratio the same on either side?
2006 has factory widebands, so you can view that in Cipher. If they prefer to have it logged on the dyno (which is understandable), they can use an existing port in your exhaust. There is no need to go and drill/weld etc.
As for aem/innovate.... one is fine for general monitoring. Bank 2 / Driver side is the preferred side to monitor. The AFR can differ between the banks slightly, but on an NA setup with stock fuel system this isn't something you need to be overly concerned with. For heavily modified engines with a standalone, I would suggest dual widebands.
