Default My Uprev tune with basic bolt ons...

I had my Uprev tune today done at Secret Services in Houston on a Mustang Dyno. Results below...btw my bolt ons are in my sig, my car a 2008 HR 6MT.

I was consistently averaging between 290 and 295 HP with the HWC included as it was 95 degrees in the shop at 11am.

My basic, non bolt on factory stock numbers from March 6th 2010 at Dyno day @ Autotech in Dickenson, TX. on another Mustang dyno were;

Max HP- 243.5 hp
TQ- 226.4

I was also running an A/F of 11.6 average as my filters were completely clogged.

------------

Today my first run before tune was 276 HP and 232 TQ.

After tune my A/F was fixed to around 14.6. My final numbers were;

292 HP
250 TQ

For some reason the sheet wouldn't print but he's going to email it to me. The Dyno sheet I have says;

289 HP
247 TQ.

The car maybe only gained around 16 HP or so, but the throttle response is VERY, VERY noticeable and it just drives soooo much smoother. Just wish I could get more TQ, but it's a HR, so I wasn't surprised by the low numbers.

Gotta say even though it was a chunk of money for the gains ($550 for the tune and 16 or 18 pulls, plus $300 for the Uprev license), it was TOTALLY worth it to me. The car just seems like a completely different vehicle now. LOVE it.

I'll have the sheets scanned Monday to show. All in all I'm very satisfied with the results. Just feels like a totally different car now!

congrats. I didnt even care about net gains when i got tuned. Just the difference in how the car felt and how much faster it felt was worth it.

The 14.5 was on the screen as it was sitting idle. My sheet doesn't show what the final A/F ration was though. I do know when I hit WOT I smell no sulphur like smell anymore and it runs to friggin' smooth now.

when you get the dyno sheet e-mailed to you look at the bottom on the print out, it should show the AFR under the HP/TQ graph, at WOT you should be some place in the low 12's high 11's... at least thats what i'm tuned at. congrats on the numbers and being happy with your tune

With N/A you can get a little more power from running higher A/F's , low 13's will be ideal for max power, mid 12's are a good mix of safety and power. With stock block F/I should you be shooting for high 11's, not really with N/A.

This was my dyno sheet stock from March 2010.

This was from Saturday, but nowhere do I see the AFR?

Sorry it's so small but Fototime resized the pictures and I don't have photoshop here at work so save/edit the scans from PDF to Jpeg format.

Glad to hear you like your tuning! When you get more time behind the wheel like after your first tank of gas or a week or two can you update with your impressions about day to day experience and gas mileage? Also, let us know what the AFR issue was about. Thanks!

If you were really running that lean at WOT then you wouldn't be making the power you are. Sounds like they knew what they were doing, congrats.

My bad, I was looking at the first one. But I agree with the other members, if the A/F was really that far off you wouldn't be making power. The knocking/pinging resulting from a lean mixture would cause the ECU to cut power.

OK, after almost two weeks-

I called, my A/F was set at 13.1, although he tried it lower but wasn't getting the power at the lower A/F.

I see no increase in gas mileage, just a decrease but this is due to my new heavy foot.

I absolutely LOVE the throttle response now, just a completely different car than I've driven the last 3 years. My short highway trip to work (20 minutes max) has a straight away, but the slow downs in traffic keep me at 19MPG for the short ride.

All in all this is one of the best things I've done to the Z. I am glad that I waited until after the majority of my planned bolt on's were installed before the tune, as it just opened them up to their potential it seems. I can definitely tell the HP increase, and the drive through gears is soooo smooth now. Big, BIG fan of the Uprev tune!

The HR doesn't really make less torque than a DE...looking at the max number like that is subject to two problems:

1) Is a single point in time and not representative of the overall area under the curve

2) Newer/stricter rating standards imposed in 2007 mean that comparing an HR to a DE/Rev-up is not an apples to apples comparison....the difference on a dyno is greater than the difference on paper.
