Default Uprev license or full tuner kit

This fall I'm going to get my car dyno tuned at a place in Wichita, Kan. called fusionworks. They quoted me a price of 180 for a dyno tune and another 300 for the uprev license. My question is, should I just get a license for my stock ecu or should I buy the full tuner for almost double that? I plan on (fingers crossed) going FI in the next two years but don't currently have the funds to do that right now. If I do get just the license, will that be enough of an engine management system for the turbo kit or should I just go ahead and get a full kit? Thanks.

The Osiris license is the same whether you just get reflashed at the shop or buy the cable separately. They have the exact same capabilities in regards to being enough of a tune. The difference is that if you have the tuner kit you can modify the tune yourself, and you can reflash back to stock later on and sell it used if you want.

I wouldn't waste your money on a full dyno tune if you're planning on going FI, but a tune will make a big difference. Plus when you go FI you won't have to repurchase engine management

IMO I would buy the Osiris cable separately (the $500 option) then still get your Z dyno tuned, and when you go FI in the future you can put the license back on the cable and sell it so that you may buy the Tuner version of Osiris. So your going to spend $680 getting the Osiris cable and dyno tune, then later sell the cable for say 400-450. Which then will leave you with roughly $280 in recovered money that you can use towards the Tuner version of Osiris.

Otherwise if you spend $480 at a tuner when you go FI you'll have no residual money and have to pay $700 for the Tuner version of Osiris straight up.
