Default Haltech Tuning/Multiple Boost Levels

I'm in the process of doing a build and I've got the Haltech unit in my car and will be using the Haltech manual boost controller.

My question, is there a way to have two different boost levels without needing to use a laptop to load another map? Or even 3 levels? Can I use some type of toggle switch in the cabin and switch it to a different level from there?

Thanks

haltech doesnt have on the fly boost control

you can get an aftermarket boost controller to do that if you really want it.

Thanks

In the setup up buying from another member, he was using Uprev and had a turbosmart electronic boost controller. I already own the haltech so I'll be going that route.. Would it be smarter to stick with the haltech boost controller with the haltech, and if I want to change boost, load that map? Or.. Use the haltech and then the turbosmart controller to control the boost? Pros and cons of either?

Haltech does have on the fly boost control. The pro plugin has boost trim and scramble boost built in. The harness type needs a i/o expander box to enable trims. You can have it wired to a rotary dial to increment the boost level. You'll need an electronic boost control solenoid of course.

Should I just have several maps and and load them when I want a different boost, use an external boos controller or go with the trim?

Do I need to have a different tune for every different level of boost the haltech sees? I'm just confused as to how the different boost is handled by the computer.

One last question, I was told that there could be a toggle switch sent to the haltech boost controller to control the duty cycle to adjust the boost. Leave it off for the stock boost setting, and then when the switch is turned on, it would adjust the duty cycle for a different level. If this is possible, would this mean it would have to be open boost control?

Your tuner should incrementally tune boost up to your max boost level all on one map. The trim dial is set in the software to have a user specified increase, either duty cycle for open loop or psi for closed loop.

If the electronic boost controller is off you ll be running waste gate spring pressure. When it's on it can be open or closed loop control

Is this the trim module you are talking about?

try AEM infinity you can change maps on the fly, but you would need a boost controller not sure if the AEM infinity has different maps for closed loop boost control
