Default Should a proper Fi tune pass emissions?

Currently have an 03 G35 with procharger 12psi pullies(at sea level), but moved to colorado and have not got a retune yet, I have a tuning appointment in 2 weeks, but tried to pass emissions early and failed. First was my original hawaii map with lots of timing pulled. this failed for high hydrocarbons(7.3) and high co2. the next was a map I did with advanced timing and it only failed for hydrocarbons but by much less(3.8). Once I am able to get it properly dyno tuned for the altitude etc, should it usually be able to pass? with oem cats of course.

relevant mods are:
uprev tuner
procharger with 42/24 pullies
750cc RC injectors
return fuel system
oem headers and cats, 3" y pipe. oem midpipe, and custom axle back

My car tested cleaner than stock after I tuned it for the S/C.

Pulling timing will drastically increase HC. You're essentially dumping unburned fuel out the exhaust valves and letting the cats try to sort it out. They shouldn't be getting much into boost while driving it on the dyno though anyway. Mine were 20-40% better than when I had the car tested after we first moved here 3 years ago. Shouldn't be too hard to get it past emissions on a street tune.

Wow glad I don't have that type of emissions testing ours consist of connecting to the obd2 port and if all systems are ok it passes. Luckily for me all the systems are not available when they hook to it.

Cool thanks. Will definitely see how it does after I get the tune in 2 weeks. hopign it will sort it all out. yea the table with advanced timing only had hydrocarbons. the retarded timing had high HC and CO2 so Im guessing I need to be somewhere in the middle.

Yes im glad the struggle is over. I think My hawaii tune was just horrible here. with the loss of boost due to altitude the car was running very rich and too much timing was pulled for the amount of boost im making here so with that combination it ran badly. Now I can work on making more power.
