Default UK Pre-Order Programme Announced

Well the day is nearly here...

I've received the Official Pre-Order Programme leaflet & invitation from my dealer. Orders can be taken from 3.50pm on March 17th.

Dealers will want a £ 2,000 deposit with order.

No mention of Sat Nav on the specs within the leaflet though & I'm told that the first models available will all be GT packs.

Book the day off now.

Strangely, I've had March 17th booked off for a while now!

I think I may find myself down at the Nissan Dealership at around midday also.

I didn't notice that 3:50 bit! D'oh!

Anyway, got my call from Nissan this morning and I've arranged to go there on FRIDAY to sort out my spec. and finalise the order process. VERY VERY SLIM chance that I'll get the car this year, but more likely early next year.

The car is pretty much as I'd planned it, but he did tell me that of the 450 UK cars this year, 50 are probably going to be press/demo cars!!! Swines.

Angry

Well Chaps, I too jumped for joy when that invite came through the letter box and was opened before it touched the mat.....So with this 'Special Invite' I phoned the dealer just to see if I could get a copy of the spec to mull over untill the big day when I take a wad of cash out of the matress, only to be told that he has taken 6 orders and deposits of 2 grand already and to rub salt into the wounds he said that 4 other cars have been snapped up as personal cars for the management team...!!!!! gutted

Can they really do that, I thought the whole point of this was to make things fair and thats why 'us' the selected few had the invites for the launch (March 17th). should we have had priority?
When I asked if this invite was being sent out as a 'round robin' he said that Nissan had selected people with current cars already in the same braket...!!!

Just a tad peeeved...

M.

Ps.........

I think that making the owners of the first cars pay for Ray wheels at an extra £1000 a bit of a cheek when the standard(free) 18" wheels look great anyway....

Oh, and you can only order metalic colors.

One more for Gunmetal......is this going to be the like the over kill 'Silver TT'......arrhhhh

I spoke to the lovely. lovely, lovely man at Nissan this morning and he said that the people with the 'Wonker bar gold tickets' posted this week entitle us priority on the 450 cars on sale this year because we are the target audience......sweeeeet

Right...which dealer shall I pick...???

Its all smiles again now, now more tears and no need to set up came out the dealer...

That sounds great! I found mine on the doorstep yesterday evening (had been away for a couple of days) - gave me a warm fuzzy feeling :-)

Hi guys

M - hope your right about ***** Wonka tickets.

I'm working at home tomorrow and getting my current car serviced - 200sx - so I will be there at 8:00am to drop it off. Will give them instructions to ring me if hoards of traders turn up at 12..apparently my local dealer says 4 or 5 traders

have pre-registered. That just wouldn't be fair on us honest, hard working, would-be owners......

Hope you are all successful and come away clutching you order forms.

Still in 2 minds over Gunmetal, Blade or Kuros...but current car is black and it looks great when clean!!

I've started a "UK orders confirmed" thread. Hopefully we can all post tomorrow night.....with a bit of luck it can be the beginning of the UK owners club!!!

If traders are looking to buy and hoard the cars then that is a shame

My delaer told me that Nissan will be checking each order to ensure that it is a bonified order from a prospective customer. Any that appear to have come from traders and direct from dealers may well be refused.

If so, then the cars will go to people who deserve to have them.

I heard the same thing from my dealer. Nissan are going to audit the car registrations, etc. to ensure that it goes to the intended buyer... however, if the staff of certain places do do this in order to resell, they will then be sold as second owner cars... surely this will grossly affect the sales value??? Or will people pay over the odds just to get one without waiting???

This is exactly what I heard also...

...so I know there is a thread running about orders being confirmed, but has anyone had the call from Nissan yet (not from your dealer, or salesperson) actually from Nissan?

This is what I understood was to be the process with regards the initial model allocation, or am I missing something?

Desperately waiting by the phone

Sorry guys

Guess I got too exicted on Sunday night with the oders confirmed thread!!!!!!!!!

........had read press last weekend that with the on-line ordering system, confirmation of (potential) successfull allocation would be immediate, with expected delivery date being confirmed "a number of days after"

Nissan UK ringing to audit before allocation was what I was told yesterday, so I guess we are all in the same boat.

I had a look at the dealer guide produced by Nissan, (I think these were handed out at the dealer demo, last week). It had everything about GT only , £1K extra for Rays etc for delivery in 03, and it said that they would contact the dealer and customers to advise within 3 days...not sure if real, real confirmation or audit though.

Apparently you know it's real when your dealer gets a NARDIS (??) number which is HO order allocation on their system.

On edge like you all, but pretty good marketing for start (and think of the mileage they'll get over the next 6 months).

Hopefully they'll make it up to us at the pre-ordered customer themed events they'll be holding, or is that another myth???

Yeh, I've ordered a blade silver with GT pack and Rays, The dealer phoned to say it was the second of the 8 cars they were ordering. suposed to get telephone confirmation from the dealer 24 hours later and then written confirmation after 48 hours. No phone call yet though .

OK - so I'm killing time until the call comes...

this is like waiting for a war or something!!!

I had a call last night from a business colleague who's in the States (Chicago & New York) on business at the moment. He rang to let me know he was in a Nissan Showroom in Chicago & that the cars look great (tell me something I don't know).

I think he's now jealous of me, but he has picked up a US brochure, taken a load of photos & blagged some goodies off of the dealer for me (just on the basis that he'd travelled from England & was checking out the Z for me). The dealer also ran through the details on the G35 whilst he was there.

I'll post the pics once he's back in the UK (Friday or Monday)
