What are the parts exactly?, looks like valve caps, front rear badges and strut tower covers. Are the badges (if that's what they are) self adhesive?, or do they fit into the original holes.
Is the quality as good as it looks from the photograph, and finally how much did it all cost, including postage?.

So many questions, so little time

OK

"Lust then Love" - Story of the new Z Book (US)

Horns (not strut tower covers) - replacements for the manky stock metal ones. I know no one sees them, but it's in the detail don't you know (Japanese Domestic Market - Nissan Accessory)

"350Z" Rear Emblem (self adhesive) - For two reasons, firstly because I'll need this for the rear of the car after I fit the VeilSide V1 rear wing & second because I'm playing about with making a custom nose badge & may use the Z to make a mould from (Genuine Nissan Part)

"Z" Side Emblem (self adhesive with two pins for alignment) - For two reasons, firstly because I'll need these if I fit the Z4 style side repetear indicator (but we will most probably have to have a side repeater as JDM by UK law) & second because I'm playing about with making a custom nose badge & may use the Z to mount in the centre of a shaped badge surround (Genuine Nissan Part)

"Z" Logo Theft Resistant Valve Covers - because I liked the look of them from the website

Now the painful bit - the cost

Shipped UPS from Courtesy Nissan was $ 242.90 that works out to £ 160.61 (there are cheaper shipping options) - but then we have to pay Import Duty & all that stuff which is £ 31.92

So the total is £192.53 - Turnaround in under a week from order.

Now to sort out the rest of the bits...

So many questions, so little time (172 days)

How exactly do they make the valve covers theft resistant?

Read the book yet? Post us the preface?

Have you seen Artsci's lastest post? Thread
What will you do with the "Z" Side Emblem's that you take off, experiments?

What plate frame do you think best on Blade? link Are they legal?

Quite fancy the 'The Run' DVD, Dealer saw it at pre-launch and said he'd try a get a hold of a copy. Anyone seen it yet?

Dealer also said that we should recieve some 'quality' Z gifts from Nissan prior to Oct. Know any more?

Always asking questions

Q: How exactly do they make the valve covers theft resistant?
A: The chrome plated part of the valve cover has an inner part made of a carbon fibre composite & each set is supplied with two "keys" which slide over the cap & tighten it at the very base. The chrome part revolves freely & can not be removed without a "key"

Q: Read the book yet? Post us the preface?
A: Only Chapter 1 - Legacy (History of the Z). Just buy it, you know you want to

Q: Have you seen Artsci's lastest post?
A: Yeah, check my reply. I can't believe we can't get away with the three squares Undaunted... my research continues into a shaped backing for the Z side emblem.

Q: What will you do with the "Z" Side Emblem's that you take off?
A: I reckon they will be knackered if I remove them, but I may not go this route now (BTW the total price included 2 of these emblems - obviously). The UK model is going to have side repeaters as the JDM model. It looks like I'll use one to make my nose badge prototype

Q:What plate frame do you think best on Blade? Are they legal?
A: Wouldn't go for these in the UK. 1. They're the wrong size for UK plates 2. It's a lot cleaner look without a frame & straight UK plates

Q: Quite fancy the 'The Run' DVD, Dealer saw it at pre-launch and said he'd try a get a hold of a copy. Anyone seen it yet?
A: Downloaded the 40.5MB version (QuickTime preview) & it's way cool - very "Getaway in Stockholm". Was tempted by getting a copy of eBay, but wasn't too sure about the Region coding of the DVD (Region 1 or Region 0 ?)

Q: Dealer also said that we should recieve some 'quality' Z gifts from Nissan prior to Oct. Know any more?
A: I hear that we should get a proper brochure this month (April), so we should find out for sure what we get for our money
One thing I do know, it seems we are getting a fair number of suspension tweaks to suit UK/Euro roads - hopefully that will sort out the Bounce / Chop that some of the US owners are complaining about...

A: Might go for those...

Q: Do you know the ISBN number?

A: Yeah, check my reply. I can't believe we can't get away with the three squares Undaunted... my research continues into a shaped backing for the Z side emblem.
A: Your right, never noticed at first. The Z also looks like it will be flat (not embosed)
Q: Does the Z emblem fit nicely over the Nissan badge? (Hides all the lettering and is flush with outer rim? post a pic maybe?) My friend runs a 'machine shop' and could probably fabricate a backing plate to suit.

A: You could have the repeaters removes, holes filled, wing resprayed, and new repeaters fitted when your kit is going on.

A: Wouldn't go for these in the UK. 1. They're the wrong size for UK plates 2. It's a lot cleaner look without a frame & straight UK plates
A: My plate is only 5 characters long, and with a custom plate size, I think it might look neat on the front.

A: I was told that there 'may' be a track day or two organised for late summer, also some free quality keyrings, paperweights etc.

Is anyone going to the 'Motor Drive, Live' event? Heard that there's to be a 305Z there... If anyone is looking for a test drive around the track...

Q: Now one for you... What do you think?
A: Much neater than the v2 & v3. I don't think the side view does the kit justice though.
Are you looking for a UK importer?
How much?
How much fully fitted?

Q: Do you know the ISBN number?
A: 0-7853-7568-6 Publications Internation Ltd.

Q: Does the Z emblem fit nicely over the Nissan badge? (Hides all the lettering and is flush with outer rim? post a pic maybe?) My friend runs a 'machine shop' and could probably fabricate a backing plate to suit.
A: I'm looking at either recessing it into a Nissan style moulding, or my favourite is a shaped 3mm solid semi-gloss plastic with the side emblem mounted centrally. Will shout if I need help

A: You could have the repeaters removes, holes filled, wing resprayed, and new repeaters fitted when your kit is going on.
Reply: Too much paintwork for a nice new car IMHO

A: My plate is only 5 characters long, and with a custom plate size, I think it might look neat on the front.
Reply: I stand corrected but your choice on the design

Q: Where did you get the quicktime preview from?
A: The link was on this board - I think it was from www.z.com - try a search for "the run"

A: I was told that there 'may' be a track day or two organised for late summer, also some free quality keyrings, paperweights etc.
Reply: Any freebie is a good freebie in my book

Q:Is anyone going to the 'Motor Drive, Live' event? Heard that there's to be a 305Z there... If anyone is looking for a test drive around the track...
A: I'll most probably do Goodwood Festival of Speed

Q: Are you looking for a UK importer?
A: Haven't had much joy with UK or VeilSide, will most probably go JapanParts - Tokyo

Q: How much?
A: About £1250 plus duty, install & painting

Q:How much fully fitted?
A: Time will tell...

I got the book that you got Veilside Z for free. I was one of the first people to buy a Z, and the manager gave me the book, and said it was his last one. He gave it to me because i would be at the dealer almost every week trying to make a deal, and finally about the 3-4 time i went...i got my silverstone touring, and he gave me the nice book with the history of all the Z's

Default I've only gone & done it (yet) again...

Placed the order with Courtesy Nissan today, so it's official...

...my car will be fitted with the front Z emblem - no more Nissan Doughnut

Rear will most probably have the VeilSide (VS badge) which is on the wing & of course the 350Z badge...

...also went for a copy of "The Run"

Delivery 1 - 2 months time

Thumbs up

OK people,

"The Run" DVD has arrived from Courtesy Nissan & I'm going to spell it out here...

"BUY IT"

Seriously, it is superb...

...for those of us in the UK make sure that your DVD will play NTSC DVDs & that your TV will process NTSC instead of regular PAL.

My setup works fine through PC, PS2 & regular TV DVD & there is no Region coding so most people shouldn't have a problem watching

BTW it's on special at the moment for $ 7.95 with Courtesy Nissan, so it's a good deal if you bundle it with other bits to cut down the shipping cost
