ah right... looks to me like he's taken down the mysql database in order to assist with the migration and offline updates..
The forum s/w however is still running, don't know if this can be disabled through the hosting panel, and a static webpage put in it's place??? Would certainly help with all of these questions

Hey guys, I was starting to get a litle paranoid - I hope the alterations to the site won't reset val's post count again ........ I was sooooo looking forward to the picture of him with his nice pink handbag !!!!!!
