At one point before lunch, there was a sharp hill in the road. I saw it last second and slammed on the brakes. I thing we were partially off the ground when we went over it. I think the biker had a bit more fun with it.

An older M3

Lee finally arrives

After driving the longest 250 miles of my life we checked into a much nicer than expected hotel. I'm not entirely sure but I think that everyone was right around the 11th floor.
View from our room (Click for larger version):

My co-driver Brian, Clay, and his co-driver, Steph had some high priced beer and supper at the Rock Bottom Brewery. (I took the lead with 3 beers!) On the way to the afterparty we spotted an Oscar Meyer's weinermobile and had to stop for photos!

Two blocks later we had arrived at the Mainstay!

The party was already well underway when we arrived, but thankfully we had a pretty good deal worked out.

Drinks were reasonably priced by Detroit standards (about $4 for a 24oz domestic) and I had a huge bottle of some high gravity beer that ran me $13! The band who's name I don't know that I ever heard played with only a couple of short breaks from 10:00 to 2:00.

The night might have been all around better had I not had the bright idea to buy a round of Jagerbombs for the Z crew at around 11:00. (I think my score at that point was 5+ beers) I think most folks are familiar with bar/shot protocol and won't be surprised that my first shot purchase was fairly quickly met by at least two two more from the other guys. I knew I was in trouble when the question wasn't asked anymore and the drinks just appeared in my hand.

At some point my co-driver went outside for a smoke and I eagerly joined him. Noticing the banner tied to a lamppost right outside the bar I made plans to steal it and hang it up in my office Monday morning.

We were then distracted by team blowup doll. (Note: this link is quite possibly NSFW!) Blowup doll molestation. Shortly after the end of this video, the poor abused doll found it's way onto the stage for more humilation.

During the next smoke break, I made my move. The cape was mine! My girlfriend could now sleep soundly, as I now possessed the ultimate in modern chastity belts! I was convinced to return the banner to it's rightful owner at the end of the night as much as I wanted to hang it up myself.

When the bar closed a good number of us stood around outside the bar and watched the regulars pour out. Brian will have to tell you all more about the one person drunker than me! He did a good job of playing mother and shooing off potential homeless molesters from what I understand.

The next morning I woke up reasonably quickly at 9:00 and it was all downhill from there. Luckily I did not have the expected headache, but I did still have a hellish hangover.

We met in the parking lot at 11:00 for a planned 11:30 departure which ended up closer to 12:30. After doing a quick touch up on the car I retired to the passenger seat to try to fight back the hangover.

Fortunately for me I started to feel a little better by the time we pulled out of the lot. Parade video It is amazing what a little adrenaline will do for a person. I felt like a million bucks as soon as we exited the parking lot and we all started to hit the gas!

Our route started out on I75N where where the camera car was awarded with the second speeding ticket of the weekend. He had been slowing down and filming the group as they passed by and then giving it a little gas to catch up. There were a few cars still behind me when I saw the trooper flip on his lights about 200 yards in my rear view mirror. Traffic started to increase and the camera car started to slow down, but it was too late. At lunch they told us that the trooper intended to pull the whole group over, but that he changed his mind when he clocked them at 93mph.

Unfortunately most of the roads for the last bit of the cruise were full of traffic and police.

The awards ceremony was at a fairly nice restaurant on the river. (I stuck with fries and a coke though. Thanks hangover!)

While we waited for everyone to arrive we watched the ugliest car do some serious offroading. I tried to take video of it but suddenly forgot how to work my phone's camera. On the second hill there was some question as to whether or not that poor car would wind up on it's back.

The booby prize for best time was won by one of the organizer's Dad. I failed to get pictures of this too unfortunately. How often do you get to watch a fellow award his father a bright neon green ***** only to have a small child hold it up over his head like a trophy?

The trip back to Detroit was pretty uneventful. For the most part I set the cruise and leaned back until Brian caught up. My GPS said that he saved us 3 minutes by encouraging me to speed again!

tl;dr? This was the most fun I've ever had in a car. I can't wait until next year, but I won't drink nearly as much!

Let me know if there is something that I left out (or should have left out! : )

^ Absolutely perfect job on the ending. Thanks!

Sorry about being a bad influence on speeding. I was still pumped about the day before. Somehow the speedlimit is painfully slow to me now. After this and being on the Autobahn in Germany a couple weeks ago, I may as well save up for my next ticket.

I thought about stopping at every yard sale along the way and buying some kind of junk... but my co-driver talked me out of it. (it wasn't hard... Me "hey! We should stop at every garage sale!" him: That would probably take a long time." me: "Oh... right..." )

We were driving through some bum**** part of nowhere and there was an old man on his porch. The entire front of the house all the way from the ground up to the roof was covered in **** he was trying to sell.

This sounds like a blast... I've never done anything like this before but I'd love to give it a shot!

We do limit the amount of entrants just to keeps things manageable and fair.

This year is going to be awesome!
