Smile ESS 550hp E46 M3 CSL at the ring

Saw this vid on the bimmer forums of the ESS Vortech supercharged E46 M3 CSL: http://www.my330i.com/videos/ess_csl.wmv . The car uses a Vortech V2SQ HU and puts down a little bit over 500rwhp and 330rwtq. This vid makes me think about supercharging my Z instead of turbocharging, that's how impressive the beast is. It definately shows that superchargers can work awesome in cars similar to ours, if set up right. The linear and controllable powerband, as well as the crips sound from not having a turbo or turbos in the exhaust stream, is appealing to me. Let me know what you guys think.

Thats pretty hot, I know the best force induction route for the S2000 is supercharge as well although I think a turbine would be better for the M3. I hear rumors of a stage 1 turbine in works for the E46 M3 that will make it 700-800hp but its gonna cost like 30k

You have a nice stable of cars MPower. On the S2000 the superchargers work great for the money. There is more of a cost margin between SC and turbo's on the S2000 compared to what it is for us Z guys. I know for the E46's. the problem with turbocharging the car has always been tuning. Turbo kits are finally starting to make there way to the market using different EM, but it definately cost a pretty penny, as you hinted to lol. DA Motorsport jus released there kit for the E46's and it cost 8 grand for the base kit that gives you like 350fwhp on a 330, which definately isn't much of a value.

Thanks. I joined this board because my friend is Ryan350zpower. Now that I've joined I'm always in the GTR section I can't wait for that badboy. I hear its gonna PWN M3's and give supercharged M3's a run for their money

Here is a pic of Ryan350zpower's car and my S2k
