Hmm...I hesitate to chime in here, as I neither own a Z, nor am I good at grading.
However, I do work on the Z, and due to the build quality, not very often.
I enjoy driving the Z, as I've had several chances to. I don't find it a chore, rather, I find it a pleasure.
I also feel elated to know that he probably has not critiqued the Sentra, that I currently own. How do you guys stand driving such beasts?!

You know guys ... there is nothing that JC sais that I can dissagree with. ie.
- Engine the weakest part of the car (ie. no 'sportier' or more
exciting than something in a Toyota Camry).
- Interior quality/materials are shocking.
- Seats not that confortable on long drives
- Car too heavy
They are all the things that I noticed 1st before I bought the car. The above mented things are exaclty what I'm trying to 'fix' in mine ... would have been nice if it was 'fixed' out of the factory.
Though, the 'review' does not seem complete ... where does it mention 'handling' and 'braking'? Or the power down out of corners? What about the gearbox?

First off, why are these threads CONSTANTLY filled with ash and smoke... that guy is not an idiot. I've seen him review MANY cars, and usually very well. I am not going to say that I agree with him in this particular review, but I wouldn't go jumping the gun an flaming like so many people here tend to do. Now, with that said, here's why I hated this review:
I thought he seemed a bit biased before he even got into the car. He hates the noise of the engine, yet regularly drives Ferraris and Lambo's with whines that are much harder on the ears. Personally, I like the sound of the engine.
As for the seats, I find them quite comfortable as well; much better than what you'd find in a Toyota Camry. It almost seemed (once he bashed the second, third, and fourth generation Z's) that he had a bad idea about the car before he even sat in it. I found it funny that he didn't mention the 300zx at all in his review (one of the best, and most reliable sports cars Nissan has created).
The Def Leopard bit was completely out of place.
He gives no notice to the actual performance of the car, only the dislikes that he notices while sitting in it. Its almost as if he was expecting the 350z to be a bently, or an expensive luxury car (soft leather seats, no cabin noise, very nice instruments). Although, he did show some liking to the tach in the dead center.

Hello Guys and gals
this is my first post so i say a big hello from London ,England,Im getting my z 1st week in Jan and i can not wait!,i have seen loads of reviews and all but one have been great and yes you guessed it,its that Jerk Clarkson who had to go and spoil things!

Usually he does do good and interesting car reviews, this musta been one of his off days, maybe he was backlashing against the attention the Z has got since it was first announced and just tainted him before he even got in it.

How would you have liked to be the Z Club members that brought their kick-*** old Zs to have on the show only to find out you were going to be rediculed and insulted? Yeah thats great.....and remeber, a review is not a good review unless it insults a one-armed drummer!

First off this guy is not a fan of the Z. You just have to watch his review of the RX8 vs Z to dtermine that.
Worse off he's a RACIST! Talking about how it has an Indian designer from Leicester. You can hear the distaste in the way he expresses himself. Talking about "Raw Hamburger Curry served in a disinterested way".
Had he made a similar sleight against say Jews for example you would have seen quite a different backlash.
This guy should be fired.

Clarkson's reference to the Z having a Renault engine comes from the fact that Renault released a car - the Vel Satis in the UK with a detuned VQ35 engine - you and I know that Renault used a Nissan engine - but that doesn't sound as good as saying 'here is a sports car from Nissan that uses a Renault engine from a crap car'.
Just to really rub it in - this weeks Topgear shown this coming Sunday is all about how manufacturers have dropped the ball lately with cars far worse than their predecessors. You guessed it - the 350Z stars heavily !!!
It comes to something when the magazine 'Topgear' published by the BBC (and directly related to the TV program but with less input from Clarkson) - states that the 350Z is the best small coupe on the market and gives it 5 out of 5 !!
