Default My 07 Fujita Intake Experience

The supplied crank hoses are way too short.
I installed them. Ran the car, and then it died.
Becarefull not to have any kinks in the lines.
The car wont breath right, causing the check engine light to turn on.
Design Flaw by Fujita.
I went to O'Reillys and purchased 4 feet of hose.
I looped the lines.
The easiest way to reset the ECU is to always have the trunk open then disconnect the battery. This way the battery drains with the trunk light.
You dont have to hit the brake pedal or worry about the windows.
Here is pics of what I did.

Hmm, that's a smart thing to do as you add some additional pipes, well, done. how does it feel, i am going to buy, but i am waiting for somebody to instal the AEM twin intakes , and write his experience with them, but hey fujita is a way to do it, too, so come on tell us how the car feels?

Viper where did you order yours from?
Mine was part of the first batch Ptuning sent out.
I just had to wait a long time for my car to come back from the body shop.
Is there bad batches ???
A couple of other people have complained about them not lining up.

* Result Wise *
My buddy recently purchased an 07 SMB and we wanted to see the difference of my mods. XO2 Exhaust & Fujita intake compared to Stock.

30 MPH Roll - Both in 3rd Gear
He pulled on me at by 1 or 2 feet untill I hit 4 RPMs.
I quickly caught up and started to pull.

50 MPH Roll - Both in 4th Gear
He pulled on me again untill 4 RPMS,
Then I pulled alot better.

Mine came from PTuning (I think they were from the second batch), but I'm pretty sure I have the same ones you do. I had a little trouble getting the breather hoses on, but only because of the clearance afforded by the "boxes" they were attached to. Once I freed them up and connected the hoses, I was able to put the pipes into place without issue. Over 1k miles later, and I've had no problems (I keep checking them to see if anything has slipped off).

Your results with your stock 07 friend seem as expected... You gave up a little low end torque for higher end HP. I'd like to see a video of that if you feel like doing it again.

BTW... From the pictures you posted it looks like you still have the snorkels in place at the entrance to the stock intake holes. You should really take them out (if you haven't already). They create a restriction for cold air coming in throught the front end grill.

Makes you wonder if they spent the right amount of time in the design of these. Or were they just trying to be first to market. Allowing them to have a product that looked good but was first to the shelf so everyone jumped. Even if it could have a better design.?

I thought the same thing but for the $ you cant beat it. How much different can they really make two pipes with filters on them and justify $200 more for maybe 1 hp more. I get mine tomorrow hopefully I wont have the same problem you did.

Does anyone know how or what angle to remove the snorkles/air inlets without taking the front bumper off?

The passenger side snorkle comes out rather easily through the hole (pull into engine compartment). However, I had to wrestle with the driver side snorkle for over 1/2 and hour until I got the angle and pressure just right (again through the hole into the engine compartment).

I don't even want to know how you put the filters in place with those snorkles in there...

My snorkels came out easy, but I have the MSA front so Im not sure if I have a shorter lip on the top of my fender. My hoses didnt line up great either. Passenger side was better than the driver side which has a small kink in it but not enough to block it. I wanted to get a longer hose to wrap around but at this point no harm/no foul.

that sucks, i love how much tq the car has, especially city driving where it comes into play much more than a highway run.

I just installed the AEM intakes last night. It took a while to do, but the install went pretty smooth. I will be at the Monterey meet tomorrow if anyone wants to check them out. Just look for me in the SMB 07' with the Nismo wheels.

I had no problem installing my fujita intakes. the hoses fit fine. just had to work them in and have the piping at the right angle. i didnt have any problems on my first run and i havent had any since. the engine runs smooth and more aggresive and it has much better throttle response.

I ran into the hose issue also, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. The driver's side is kinked a bit more than the passenger side, but I still haven't had a CEL or any other problems. Car feels great. The only thing that went wrong with the install is after removing the strut bar, I ended up stripping one of the bolts while trying to put it back on.

Dam hoses were to short. I still made it work, but feel like they will detach from tubing anytime soon. I'll just buy longer hose and loop them.

Aside from this, it all went pretty smooth. I can't say I gain more power, but it roars when i push 3.5k+ rpm. For the price, not bad.
