NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: 2007+ 350Z HR AAM Basic Fuel Return System

MAJOR BENEFITS of the AAM Spec Fuel Return System - Basic:

• On an 07 350ZHR equipped with AAM HFCs, Intake, and Dual Exhaust, by tuning fuel pressure we picked up a Dyno tested 7hp gain
• Upgraded Teflon Inner Liner
• Adjustable base fuel pressure (35psi to 65psi)
• Increases fuel pressure under boost (about one pound of fuel pressure for each pound of boost)
• Increased fuel delivery reliability
• Retains the full function of the factory gas tank fuel transfer system

The AAM Spec Basic Fuel Return System is a great stepping stone for anyone who wants the reliability of a Fuel Return System on a budget. The Basic Return System utilizes the factory fuel rails and has the ability to support 450rwhp on the VQ35HR equipped vehicles (the AAM Spec Fuel Rail Return System for 07+ HRs will be released soon - it will include two Billet Fuel Rails and will convert the factory fuel flow through each rail simultaneously).

The AAM Return Fuel System - Basic for the 07+ Nissan 350ZHR is a direct bolt-on kit that converts the current factory “return less” fuel system to a full return fuel system. The “return less” system offers minimal adjustment to the amount of fuel the engine can receive. This type of system is cheaper for the factory to manufacture and works well in a factory naturally aspirated setup. On the HR however, it has several draw backs when you begin to increase bolt on modifications or go forced induction.

One negative aspect of the factory return-less system is that the factory fuel pressure regulator is installed in the fuel tank. The factory fuel pressure regulator does not allow fuel pressure adjustments and is incapable of holding consistent fuel pressure with most after-market fuel pumps. For N/A vehicles, increasing or decreasing fuel pressure will allow slight WOT fuel ratio adjustments which have netted us 7hp on a slightly modified 07 350Z.

The factory fuel pressure regulator is also unable to add fuel pressure under boost. This system is a must have for any forced induction supercharged or turbocharged vehicle and any big shot nitrous vehicles because the AAM Spec system removes the factory regulator's control of fuel pressure and replaces the control with a vacuum/boost sensitive adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This allows you to adjust both the level of base fuel pressure and increase fuel pressure under boost.

so does this kit, require that the Stock FPR be removed/capped, or replaced with a non-regulating unit?

I doupt it...

Looks pretty good but for the money I doupt its worth it. My dynos can flucuate that much without even doing anything to the car.

I dunno about those dyno claims? Its just an FPR. Nothing more nothing less.
Honestly the only reason it cost so much is for them to make the lines and to measure everything out. That FPR off the top of my head is only like $150-200 last time I bought it.

Your either gonna bump up pressure and make it rich, or turn down pressure and lean it out. I cant see all that much HP being made unless the tune is pretty far off.
Id rather get a tuning device.

yea I can make a product and throw out any numbers out there and try to sell something. We need dyno proof. Dyno logs. My dyno this past weekend had a difference of more then 7hp between runs just because the car was warming up.

The dyno results may actually show a 7hp gain, but it's not really meaningful. Almost all cars are tuned to run with a rich stoichiometric (sic) mix so when you lean it out a bit you're bound to get something and 7hp is not unbelievable. But the car is a closed loop system, so once the ECM reads the new ratio from the O2s and adjusts the fuel trims accordingly, the benefit will be lost unless you make ECM tuning changes to go with it.

Not to say an AFPR is a waste of money (everyone can decide that for themself), it just isn't something you bolt on for a quick 7hp, it's more of a tuning tool, and the big claim is being boost sensitive.

Honestly an AFPR isnt going to come in all the useful until you are running boost. Then its almost a must at that point.
For a bolton NA set up, no need honestly. Other items can do a better job for less money and actually tune the car.

Again the only thing that makes this anything is the lines are precut and pre configed for the Z. I honestly rather save $400 and make the lines myself.

Heres an example. My dynos from this weekend. Run 1 and Run 3 about 10 minutes apart. Motor warmd up a bit. As you can see theres a gain

Ya this does seem like a foolish thing to spend 600 dollars on with an NA setup. I think I am gonna wait and do Technosquares reflash and a Body kit for my next mods. I just wish Technosquare would hurry!

Yea I dont see this kit being any beneficial to me or the community of n/a Z's Maybe on a Force Induction kit itll be a good start up kit but will need to be upgraded to something better for FI.
Great look product but for $500+, I think its not beneficial to anyone except someone's pockets.
Goodluck pushing these though. Im sure the one with the full rail might be better for those thinking about going FI as long as the pricing is competitive with the competition out there.
