Default Clutch Engagement

Now I'm curious to know if any of the '07 -'08 have the clutch pedal problem as the earlier models do?

The reason why I ask is because it seems like I have to release the pedal nearly to the top before it catches. I've read the pages on the adjustments for the pedal and even the plastic stoppers and such.

But I thought by now Nissan would have addressed this issue. It is making me look and feel like I have never driven a manual with the engagement of the clutch.

Any thoughts?

Zac

the key to shifting in the Z is to move the shifter out of the gear gate before you press down the clutch...if you're shifting it right, or at about 2.5-3k, under normal driving, it should come right out...at that point, if you depress the clutch a little it will go into the next gate at the same time you're picking the clutch up...the gear will engage very shortly after and it won't feel like you're waiting for it...it take a little bit of timing but the shifts are super smooth...1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd are much smoother

also...if you're rev-ing to 2.5-3k, you can actually shift without the clutch...it should engage pretty smoothly and def no grinding

is ne1 familiar with either or these events?

I like the fact the engagement point is high. That way when I'm shifting, I think about having the pedal hit the floor and the shifter go into the gate at the exact same time. It makes pushing the clutch in and then selecting the new gear a one step process.

Wouldn't you kill your syncros by just popping the shifter out of gear??
And too bad you couldn't do that without damage at redline.

Not to bring this back from the dead...

But could I swap out the clutch and flywheel for another brand like giken and would it change the engagment point?
