Jeremy, no offense man, but if you're doing the r&d, why do you need some one else to cover the costs of parts and labor? That's part of your cost as doing business.

I'm not saying the donor car shouldn't have to pay for the kit; I don't think it should be free. But if you need a car to figure everything out, labor and all the little parts you're gonna be swapping in/out should be your bill.

well because i am not really doing the R and D to benefit a whole lot from it. i am just wanting to see what a Vortech will do on the HR and i havent seen any way to do it but just to do it myself

i think i have found a person to do it now...

if i was a huge multi million dollar company, i would definitely do it for free. we are just some cool people that opened a shop in Orlando that are all about racing of any type and actually putting cars out for abuse. .... i wish i could make the kit and then sell a few hundred of them but i doubt that is the case here.

Audible, did Vortech mention why they themselves aren't working on an SC kit for the HR engine? If they could come up with something like this, and have it CARB legal and backed up by that optional engine warranty, that would be awesome:

Novidem's SC kit.

How far are you from Disney World? I'm on vacation from California, and that's where I am right now.

Last time i talked to a rep from Vortech they told me it wasnt on their agenda, the guy said if i wanted to drop off my car for research they would take a look at it but that wouldnt mean they were going to do it.
So for right now i guess custom kit it is.. I just hope it works out and is something we will all be able to buy or order from the shop.

my only point is if I wanted to spend as much as a TT kit for a custom supercharger, id rather do a TT kit that makes more power and sounds better... :P

Reason to go Suprcharger is cuz its relativly inexpensive and straight up BOLT on.

its weird that vortech isnt jumping on this. i would think it would be relatively easy to adapt a revup kit to this car and just use a 1 to 2 intercooler to get the air split. o well, their choice. maybe they dont think they can get it CARB approved

the thing is, all the shops including myself are charging 12000-15000 to twin turbo a HR right now.

i charge 7000 for a Vortech installed on a DE motor. its really not a bad deal at all.

i have a donor now, just waiting on deposit and you will see the first HR Vortech

the mechanical part is not the part they are worried about, its the engine management.

the front timing cover for a HR is completely different and it uses completely different belt setup.
