Are are headers worth getting after full exhaust?? I've herd a lot of different things, good and bad... I herd the hr headers are pretty damn well build and with aftermarket you get either little or no gains.. Maybe after a tune or so.. Just let me know what's up.. Thanks
like you said, there is a lot of good and bad about the HR and De headers. Remember getting the headers is the easy part it the labor that is going to coast you the arm and leg. Also, if you do plan to get them, i would heat rape them to get the most gains out of the header.
The reason there are no real gains from headers is because they are shorty headers. They minic the factory headers and do not change the location or size of the factory cats. The factory cat placement has everything to do with emissions. If you have the nerve to run with test pipes, step up to the plate and get long tube headers.

a "long tube" is not automatically better...or even longer, than a short tube with a test pipe. It's strictly a marketing term

....and the debate continues.
Anyone know if there are "long tube" headers made for the 350z HR? I see Fast Intentions makes them for the 370z.

If you want every horsepower you can get out of your NA car, then you want them. They are a lot of work to install, and the gains are small. Ceramic coating is a better solution than heat tape for a street car. I would do it again, but I can be a bit extreme in this way.....
^^^^ I agree if your trying to net all the obtainable HP possible out of an NA setup headers are a must have. I never wrapped mine and now regret it. I think this fall just before I take the car off the road I will go over to my friends shop and remove the headers so that I can wrap them. Lower my under hood temps and possibly net an extra Pony or two!
They are not that bad to install. I removed my headers with the cats still bolted to them.....

Stock HR headers aren't bad, but there is room for improvement. The head-pipes are flattened in some areas, and the collector area is not that great ( Tomei headers used for comparison ).

That is correct sir. The bolt holes are already on the block. You have to use the test pipe as well for it to mate up to the cat-back.
