Default Pushrod Change.. 2003 350z enthusiasts

My Z recently started knocking. Took it to local nissan dealership for a diagnostic test. Told me I had a bad pushrod/bearing. They recommended a new motor. I'm going to take the cheaper route and replace them myself if at all possible. I know I will need the rods (size??), "lifters", probably going to change rockers and valve springs in the process. Any information or tips you could give would be awesome. (Where to buy parts, what brand fits, sizes, techniques, etc.)

This isn't a LSX motor...

Find a different mechanic to diagnose the problem, is the knocking from the top or bottom of the motor?

I cant really tell. I think I was looking for the wrong part. I'm pretty sure I meant connecting rod bearing, not pushrod. In which case I won't mess with any of the top end stuff

Yeah, definitely not a pushrod. Rod bearing sounds like what the issue is, on a stock motor typically that's going to be from low/no oil. It's a lot of work to change, not really a DIY thing unless you really know what you're doing, almost certainly did some damage to the crank, and if one failed there are likely 5 others in pretty rough shape. New motor is generally going to be the simplest and cheapest option with rod knock.

Well I work with guys that are pretty good with cars. And it's not too terribly bad at the moment, almost unnoticeable when driving. Just on a cold start. Would this problem also cause me to lose and gain oil pressure rapidly? Or am I looking at a different problem?
