Regardless I already ordered Art pipes and xyz resonated y pipe. Supposed to come tomorrow. I will soon get the tomei exhaust next and decide if I want drop ins or Injen dual intakes...

Does anyone know of 350z tuners in the Chicago area ? There were so many to choose from for the Evo ! I can't believe I'm having trouble locating one for the z.

John, what kind of torque were you making with the two hp numbers you mentioned ?
Get in contact with Larry Kenney and his crew from Project X, for all race car parts and other services contact Scott or Nick at Touge Factory, and finally I've heard of a shop called RC autowerks that do a good job at tuning that VQ platform.

Honestly I feel like that torque is worth losing a bit of hp. Do you use uprev for the etunes John?

Edit: Sorry John I have another question... I looked into the link for the 3" intake and it seems like they're selling 3" maf housing only and they're $650!? Then you match it up to an Injen intake for another $500? Did I misread something?

Agree, since now we are tying to get the AFR smooth out the tq went down and the power went up. I'm using UPREV for my E-tunes. Contact Jon Parham @Z1 Motorsport. Really helpful and great tune support.

Mmm, it says $625 for the full 3" CAI and $300 for the short tube.
I bought the short tube when they started and put together my own tube for the front.
If you can find a used INJEN front only, then you can save a bit.

Just an FYI: You will need a tune/flash to use the 3" MAF to be able to drive the car.

How long does it typically take them to send you an etune after you send the logs?

Just curious because I daily my Z and as you said you can't drive the car with the 3" intake without an updated ROM. I might have to just install the intake get some logs, put the stock intakes back on and wait for the ROM for the intake and exhaust setup lol.

If you call or email Jon at Z1, he will work with you directly so he can send them basically in a few minutes after you send him datalogs.

Just to update everyone on my progress...

Exhaust:

Motordyne ART pipes
Motordyne XYZ resonated ypipe
Tomei Expreme mid pipe/muffler

Review: Setup is literally loud AF. No rasp and a deep tone with some popping on decel. I love it so far but fear the coppers will ticket me. I'm gonna keep the silencer off and gamble for now.

Intake:

I just decided to go with k&n drop ins for now since they're $100 for both. I think I will go with moncef's 3" long tube intakes in the future.

Tune:

Purchased Osiris from Z1 and got my etune from Jon a few days ago. Car definitely feels noticeably faster than before... Keep in mind I bought it bone stock.

My next mod will be buying a used g37/370z 3.69 FD LSD swap still deciding if I want solid bushings or not because it's a daily... Opinions welcome. Saw one on eBay for $450 with 45k miles so that's not too bad.

I would love to go with an E85 tune as well but I don't have cruise control to switch maps.

Im gonna try to get the car dynoed as is and see where I stand before I do any more power mods so any future mods have a baseline.

remove white "braces", could heat up the paint a little to keep it from cracking, push up against bumper.... drill pilot holes, couple self taping hex screws with fender washers

Yea after looking at the write ups I see the "tuck" part.

I always thought "tucks" were that of required cutting and tucking. But now I see it is just a simple tuck.

Yeah that tuck took like 2 minutes to do after I finished the exhaust install. I literally didn't even mark anything or drill pilot holes.... I just took 3 8mm self tapping screws and did one corner, then the middle, then the other corner with the good ole 18v Milwaukee impact driver zipped em right in there. I feel the single exhaust looks out of place without the tuck because of the empty muffler cutout.

late to the show, but you should be able to get 300whp with intake, exhaust, and longtubes.

Martin at RS Enthalpy just tuned my car to that. He was very pleased with the results.

2007 HR , 70k miles , 0w40 oil
Stillen Gen 3 intake setup
PPE Long tube headers with upgraded merge collector
HKS Full Dual Exhaust

303 whp , 260 tq

I would like to get the 4.08 gears next!

Nice man. Why are you using 0w40 oil?

I used the recommended 5w30 Mobil 1 while my '08 was covered by the warranty, but switched to the M1 0w40 as soon as the warranty expired. In this climate, the result is more stable oil pressure on the hottest days, and less of an oil pressure spike when the engine starts on colder days. That's the entire purpose behind a multi-viscosity oil, and the newer oils can be engineered to perform this way with less additives than wer previously needed.
