I have a 07 350z HR with 140k miles it's runs around it a little over 60 psi when around 3000 rpm and when it's fully warmed up at a idle it's runing zero psi of oil pressure I have no clue why it's doing this the motor dosnt knock or tick nor does it smoke and it isn't due for a oil change also I always keep a check on my oil levels and it's perfect any help would be greatly appreciated I've read a few post and people are saying it to worry about it but low oil pressure is a huge deal for me and I can't and won't over look it

 

If the low oil pressure light isn't also on at idle, I'd do two things. Change the oil pressure sensor for the gauge, and change your oil and filter (Mobil 1 0w-40 and an M1-110 filter).

 

I forgot to mention that I'm sorry for my lack of information but the oil light does come on as well

 

Your oil gallery gaskets are probably blown but it might be a bad sensor, who knows. Don't drive the car, get it towed and get it diagnosed with a proper oil pressure gauge. I wouldn't risk driving the car now.
What oil are you using?

Okay sorry for my lack of knowledge but I have no clue what a oil gallery gasket is im assuming it's in the motor am I correct and how much would this fix cost me at like a Nissan dealer?

 

You are correct they are inside the front timing cover. These are mostly rough guesses from what I remember reading over on the G35 forum. I think a nissan dealer would be in the $2000-$3000 range but maybe more. A independent shop that knows nissan's might be in the $1500 range.

 

Yup, gallery gaskets. There are 2. Upper and lower. Happened to my 07 Nismo with just 48k miles. Make sure you get the updated 370z/G37 metal gasket. This is not offered as a direct replacement for the HR. Change timing components while your in there. No reason to open it twice. One of my posts from last year has a parts list. All together, it was about 1,100 with labor and parts. Nissan will try to get you to pay for the entire front assembly. Just find a reputable place.

Find post #13, I list pics (post 17) and parts list. I parked the Z until I did the work. The only indication is oil pressure. A bad sensor will top the oil pressure gauge. You only start getting CEL codes when its already really bad... And normally Usually timing codes from one of the valves.
